This is Amicus, Taliene and Rut's biological father, and can I just say I'm actually really proud of this design ;; He was born in the forest a long time ago and his deer form hasn't aged past his early thirties, and even though his human form is quite a bit older than that now, he still looks unnaturally young due to being a 'true' endless forest deer, devoted to the Gods. He is by no means immortal, but his physical form does seem to be stuck in time.

Rutilus has his eyes, as you can see, but apart from that neither Rut nor Taliene really look that much like their father. Really, Rutilus doesn't look like either of his parents, though I suppose his and Amicus' faces are vaguely similar. But seriously, where did the golden pelt and blonde hair come from? |8 Rut is all kinds of magical.

ANYWAY.

Amicus didn't actually venture out of the forest until his adolescence, when he could no longer ignore his wanderlust, at which point he met Enya. They grew very close very quickly, and Amicus took the risk of introducing her to the forest, which of course went swimmingly. He was almost a priest of sorts; devoted to the Gods, putting all of his faith and trust in them. Amicus taught Enya the ways of the forest, I guess, and it didn't take that long for them to fall for eachother.

But after Rutilus was born and they started to raise him primarily in the human world, Amicus started to wander, and Enya could never find him in the forest when he did. He'd started to travel to other realms, claiming the gods were guiding him, that it was a mission he had to complete.

In the process, he met another doe, whose name we don't know. In the process, he fell in love with her.

This is Enya Henrik, formerly Enya Phoebus, and originally Enya Damara. She is of course the mother of Taliene and Rutilus, and later the adoptive mother of Jared.

Her build is a bit odd, which is intentional; I think she was very underweight when she first entered the forest with Amicus Phoebus, being in her teens at the time and going through some eating disorder issues with Amicus helped her through. Strangely, while her human self has aged quite a bit by now, her deer self is still very young, seemingly frozen at the physical age of a young adult - perhaps because she was one of the 'old' deer of the forest, which never seemed to age.

She has the neck-marking that Rutilus inherited, and the grass-green eyes that Julia would eventually have, too. Taliene's eyes are/were a much muddier green.

As well as the gold marking, Enya also has white splashes (and white hind hooves) which may have contributed to Taliene (and later Julia) having a white splash on her chest rather than Amicus' grey splash.

Enya wore a realdeer mask. When Amicus first introduced her to the forest she was, understandably, frightened by the prospect of human-faced deer and sought to look as normal as possible. Later she would grow sharp prongs atop her head as a means of defence, despite her wishes to appear as a normal doe.

I'm considering actually playing Enya, Amicus and Apollo inforest from time to time. I love them.

Those two characters remind me much of the golden morning light and the red evening sun coloring my room in summer with warmth.

[=9]WELP here's the revisited Rutref, because I really wasn't happy with the original. His face was off and the antlers were poorly drawn and the masks, too...It needed updating, man. And look - now he has a reference for his hair!
Yes, he does have Buddy Holly glasses and Aviators. Why not? It's incredibly humanised, but quite frankly Rut's a very human guy. The glasses have extra-long legs to keep them hooked on even when his ears are moving and stuff okay |8 And hey, if one pair breaks, he can get another pair in the human world.
I'm pretty sure he got someone to make those masks for him, in the human world, and brought them to the forest.
His magpie mask is a plague doctor's mask, which he wanted because you don't even know how much Rut loves Assassin's Creed. He spends all day playing it online, I swear to God.
However, he does own a DS. He has played Animal Crossing. And his realdeer mask is based on Tomn Nool, copyright to Silent because she's hilarious and makes stupid typos.
His Long Mask's expression changes from time to time, but it has nothing to do with his mood. He just redraws the mouth and possibly adds eyebrows. He can actually see through the eyeholes; they're tinted glass. It's early video-game-y because Rut's a giant nerd.
Why does he have Buddy Holly glasses? Because he's a ~~hipster~~ Buddy Holly fan.
Why does he have aviators? Because he's cool.

so yup I've been editing Moss' lineart like CRAZY lately and yeah. I needed to figure out what Ramone looks like and here he is, eyeshadow'd and non-eyeshadow'd.

The reason he has two different antler sets is because basically, his antlers get thicker and thicker and he has to keep them trimmed down but HE GETS LAZY so eventually they end up looking like the thicker one and he whines about it all the time |8 HERE YoU Go god I love this guy I should have drawn him with different hairstyles and stuff
