Atticus and Élodie ~ The two deer in my siggy ♥

All the world is gray
As if you took the colors with you
When you went and passed away
OooohOoooohOooooooOoooooo
All my blood runs the same as it did before
Only difference is now I can't feel it anymore
The only thing that bounds me to this place
You took with you when you died...
So goodbye
GOODBYE!

Ironic title, because they're actually saying hello again. ^^

So here's the story...

Atticus and Élodie. ^^ lol I promise, I have a bunch of pictures of these two, where they're actually DOING stuff and not just sitting around in flowers. ROFL xD I just haven't had time to color them. TnT lol

Anyways, the little back-story to this is Élodie is human, and we're only expected to live to 70-80 or so. That's about the average. Atticus on the other hand, is from a race of rabbit people. lol They live about 240-250 years or so. The two meet, and soon begin to see how much they need and love each other. Atticus is very tall, with a broad chest and thick hands. He's gentle, quiet, and everyone likes him, he's just not the ideal portrait of "handsome" to his race. Élodie is 17, small and lanky. She's bright curious, and comical. Though at the same time, she's often sick, and her life span is comparatively short. She's often seen as very childlike by the rabbit folk, who live for much much longer than a mere 70 or so years... It soon becomes obvious that they are together, which, there’s nothing wrong with that, but… Atticus is taken aside by one of his friends, and gently reminded that yes he might love her, but... Is it really in his best interest to marry her? She won’t live very long, and she will grow old, and he would be left caring for her while he was still in his prime. And she would die, and he would be alone, possibly caring for children alone also, if they dared have any. Élodie knows all of this, and she’s hesitant, she doesn’t want to weigh Atticus down, or be a burden when she can no longer care for herself........ But don’t worry, this is no pointless romantic tragedy. (: Atticus proves his love, and they are married in the spring. And they have a very happy life together, a better life than either of them had ever hoped to have. Yes, Élodie does die, and Atticus grieves for her. But he doesn't stay in that state, she hadn't wanted him to mourn for her, and wanted him to live his life, and she would be waiting for him. He lives the remainder of his life running their bed and breakfast, their daughter has children, he becomes a grandfather, and dies quietly at age 238. But the story certainly doesn’t end that way. And the picture above is what it might have looked like, when they did meet again. (: ♥

And the purple plant is lavender. The rabbit folk like to smell nice, smell is a big deal to them, like looks are for humans. So Atticus would have some sort of lavender/bread smell to him probably. lol The bread because he's a chef and seems to be always cooking SOMETHING. xD

EDIT: This is based on a true story, only the age roles are reversed. The girl was younger, and the man was older, so yes he died when she was about middle aged. They had children, and loved each other with the kind of love I hope to find in somebody, someday. (:

XYLV- Thank you ^3^

Miss- Well, sometimes I think my art shows more of what I want than who I am. Like I WANT to find somebody like Atticus who is gentle and kind, so it shows up in my art? I think. I dunno. xD LOL
