Someone playing the Beta version can casts pelts on Minideer with special spelldata provided by Sluggs. There are a limited few that can be used (Beluga, Kabuki, couple others..)
You'll have to ask Sluggs about it, I've never gotten the older version to work properly.

I don't think it would take much from the set if you ran around as a peltless Mini. Just keep the pattern to the design? It's hard to rely on someone else to cast pelts on you every time you want to play the character because the pelt goes away, like the Crying Idol red.
