You can most certainly try! Something I suggest would be to try and close and open TEF a few times.

You can install older versions of TEF and log in on your third gen pictogram. And frankly, to know if the game works you need no pictogram at all? Can go in nameless? But yes, you can log in with a gen 3, you just won't see it yourself.

Alright so if it's not the version, it's time to look at other things!

When you reinstalled, did you remove every TEF file? Like, going to program files and deleting the Tale of Tales folder before reinstalling. That sometimes helps.

Then there's right-clicking the game icon and using run as administrator to start, that has helped with connection problems in the past.

Uuh. What happens really? Do you get a green dot, but no picto's spreading? Orange dot, or just a red dot entirely? Any kind of error in the menu? There's lots of tricks to help picto's spreading if that's a problem. It's one of the most happening errors. I've never had it though (*knock on wood*) so I only know what other people do to get them flowin.

I've had the same issue and was told I needed a gen 1, however it never let me get to log in point.

When that version came out, several players had this problem and many of them gave up on a solution. M&A had made a patch for it that seemed to help, but the patch is no longer available.

I tried several of the older versions and they all did the same thing, of course I gave away my Gen 1 before I knew how valuable it was so it didn't do me any good in the first version, but I tried the gen 2's versions and they all did the same thing to me.

A picto's generation holds no matter in getting to connect. So whoever told you that had no clue what they were doing either.The patch M&A brought out simply was a patch for 3.31 people so their game would essentionally become 3.4. I do not believe there has been a patch for connection issues. Frankly, M&A have never seemed to fix anything towards those.

Poppyflower, do other games work just fine? What you can also try if you normally start as administrator, to start it without? XD But it sounds a little odd. I know a lot of people have had problems in the past that eventually simply passed, but can never tell if that is something worth waiting on. You can try to attempt logging on on different times of the day than usual, but otherwise I'm not sure what you can try. With picto spreading issues sometimes people turn on multiple forest viewers to maybe get one to connect. But since you are not connecting at all.. On the old forums the issue is brought up a lot but never solved. Usually when it's solved the answer is "it suddenly started working again! :D" Which is very useful. Sigh. You could try resetting your router but I don't know if you have access to it.


Also maybe change the title of this blog to something "Cannot connect to server?". Because I doubt people who know stuff about this are going to come here if the title is about getting picto's.

And yes, my other games work fine. I can connect to everything else, and use the internet fine as well. I`m trying to login at different times, but that doesn`t seem to work either. It might be easier for me to try it when not a lot of people are on.

I believe I tried to use multiple ForestViewers at once, but it didn`t work. I only tried that once, though |D

And I tried resetting my router. I`m not sure if it worked. I do know that the light for my Ethernet (did I spell did right?) isn`t green. So that might be the problem.
