I have Vista (-sob-), let me see if I can help you. I'll start with the basics. If this doesn't work, or you already know this, please let me know.
1. Make sure, ahead of time, you have some magic on your deer. If you don't, this will seem like it doesn't work. You'll keep appearing as a default deer.
2. Go to Computer - Local Disk - Program Files - Tale of Tales - The Endless Forest 3 - userdata
3. Copy SpellData.cgr. (right click, copy)
4. Paste the copy of SpellData.cgr in a different location*
*I use the DESKTOP. I create a folder ("My Set") and paste Spelldata.cgr there. I don't rename the SpellData.cgr file. When you need to use that spelldata, simply copy and paste back in the original folder (from STEP 2.) You must copy+paste; don't drag and drop the file.
When you Paste SpellData.cgr back into the Forest folder, you may need to provide "administrator permission" to do this. Click Continue and it should copy the file. (If this isn't part of the problem, please disregard).
