Nature: The soul of a dead man in the body of a deer with a human face.

Name: Saater. It was a word he remembered from the first time he woke up in the Forest. Maybe it wasn't a first name, but a surname. Or maybe it was the name of his best friend or his cat.

Gender: Male. He has trouble adjusting to his deer form, so he avoids romance.

Age: Saater died as a human when he was 21 years old. He is now an immortal creature and is able to change his age at will: he can be old, an adult, or a fawn.

Sign: Possibly Pisces. Saater can't remember what day he was born when he was human, and he hasn't found any recognizable constellations in the sky in the Endless Forest.

Character Traits: He is very kind, trustful,, compassionate and empathetic, but carries a hidden pain in his heart. He suffers from bipolar disorder: sometimes he is active, cheerful and playful, sometimes he is melancholic and unsociable. Believes in God. Fatalist.

Saater (we'll call him that) grew up with loving parents in a world similar to ours. He was thoughtful, empathetic, friendly but a little cowardly. Avoided conflict, loved poetry, philosophy and music. He had an older brother, weak from birth, who was seriously ill. Saater was very attached to him. Overcoming his cowardice, he always defended him and read poetry to him at home. Saater had true friends - schoolmates. They were almost inseparable. He liked one girl, but he was afraid to admit his sympathy for her. Perhaps his life would have turned out well. But he lived in a country with a dictatorship. The dictator started a war and Saater, though he was a teenager, had to join the army otherwise his mother and his brother would have been imprisoned or killed. His father was killed in battle, his mother was killed by a bomb. The helpless brother was left alone. One by one his best friends died, until finally it was his turn to die. His death was slow. He became entangled in barbed wire and bled to death.
When he woke up in the Forest, in the body of a deer with a human face and long black hair, he remembered nothing. All that remained with him was the pain of losing his family and friends. Saater began to live in the Ruins, in the cemetery. He wept over unknown graves and slept in a deep pit. Other deer met him, and they were very kind to him. And soon Saater had settled into the Endless Forest.
Fernelescent and Widmung became mother and father to him. Rindea, Fjara, Atlas and Cu became his heartfelt friends. Soon Saater met his brother as well. In the Forest, his brother's name was Eris. Saater also met a beautiful white doe named Serra. He felt he had known her before.
Saater continues to sleep in the pit and weep over the graves, but when he meets his friends, he is happy and has great fun with them.
