Fulu walked along the edge of the water. She looked to the side, watching her daughter carefully play around in the shallows, making frogs jump. She smiled, her black eyes twinkling under her bird mask. She lowered her head to nibble at some dandilions. She saw Kailani get a little too close to the deep end.
"Watch out, Kailani, you're pretty close to the deep end!" She called over to her. She nodded slightly as she saw the little blue and white fawn come towards shore again.
---------------------------
BUMP BUMP
Kailani Lowering her front
Lowering her front end, rear in the air and curled tail arched slightly over her back, the little fawn’s tongue stuck out in mock concentration as she crawled slowly up behind yet another unsuspecting amphibian, her butt giving a little wiggle before she pounced at it. The frog leapt away just before she came crashing down upon the shore line. Giggling, she splashed into the water after it, chasing it from one cattail plant to the next before the poor frog decided to head into deeper waters. She followed it to the drop off, standing tall in water just past her knees as she watched the green form disappear into the murky darkness.
“Watch out, Kailani!”
She startled at her mother’s voice, slipping a bit in the muck below and almost falling forward. She caught herself quickly however, peering wearily into the water again as the surface rippled from her stumble. Kailani didn’t like to admit being afraid of things, but the deep end of the pond was definitely a place she was not eager to visit anytime soon. She nervously backed up to a safer distance before putting on her brave face again.
“I wasn’t that close, mamma,” she protested, but never the less turned and trotted from the danger zone to her mother’s side. She gave her blue and white pelt a little shake, sprinkling the older doe with what little water had splashed up on her. Turning her head from left to right, she looked eagerly for something else to do, and someone to do it with.

Fulu smiled as Kailani came over to her, and giggled when sprayed with water. She lifted her head from the dandilions and kissed her on the head. "Maybe we should..."
"Aunt Fulu! Aunt Fulu!" A young doe trotted up to them, a friendly smile spread across her face.
"Afternoon, Faytha." She paused to look her over. "You've grown quite a bit since I last saw you!"
Faytha giggled and blushed slightly, turning her head to her smaller cousin. "Hi Kailani! Wanna do somethin?" Her little tail wagged in joy, aware that her father was not too far behind her, but far enough to let her have her independence.

“Fayfa! Yes yes yes yes!” she greeted and answered eagerly once the question was asked. She lept around the young doe before coming to a stop in front of her, raising her hind end slightly higher than her front, tail flicking to-and-fro as she gazed up at her cousin curiously, waiting for ideas.

Oh aye? Why don't you go
Vipin stared down at resilient little Devi, who looked, now, like a mirror image of her mother. Her sallow grey eyes were deep set inside her skull, but still bright, and her little beluga antlers were already sharpening into fine obsidian things. The magpie stag seemed to be pleading with her, his own blue-grey eyes wide. Devi shook her head stubbornly, seating herself next to her uncle and another peacock doe who was studying them like one would study a very interesting object. I don't know 'em. Uncle Vipinnn, please play with me? Or Aunt Xy? She stared at her older relatives hopefully, but to her dismay Xylia laughed and ruffled the young doe's head with her hoof. Not right now... Dear, but I'm sure once... My fawn is born... He'll love to play with you. Devi frowned, her skull creasing, and she shrugged and stormed off, leaving her relatives to get much-needed sleep.
(SARIE. YOU SAVED ME
Faytha bounced over to a little patch of flowers, jumping about at the little wings that had the misfortune of floating too close to her. She misplaced a hoof at one point, and toppled over, but she laughed it off anyway. "Isn't this fun?" She asked, still hopping about. Faytha spotted a familiar golden fawn, although that fawn didn't know her. "Devi! DEEEEVIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! HI DEVIIIIIII!" She reared up, shouting after her, waving her front hooves all about. It never occurred to her that she was the oldest one there.

The little blue and white
Faytha’s sudden shouting startled her. She landed wrong and fell over into the bed of flowers before immediately poking her head up and gazing in the direction of the fawn not too far off. Devi? She didn’t know anyone by that name. She carefully wobbled back to her feet and shook off, tilting her head towards the newcomer.

He stared angrily at the pond for a long moment. A dirty, lifeless, malnourished and totally hopeless gaze met him. Snorting, Uio raised up and shattered his reflection with white cloven hooves. He was dirty, and the pond was clean. Usually his mother would have groomed him and washed him. Sometime he heard other fawns squealing and complaining to their mothers about thier baths, but oh how he would just melt with joy for that treatment again. A mother to sleep by, to nurse from, to love. But the orphaned fawn hadn't that any longer. In fact, he only cherished one thing in life currently, and that he spotted frolicking with another two fawns up the bank and below the Abiogenesis hill. That thing that he cherished was one who would accept him, dirty and abandoned as he was. He'd spotted his friend Kailani, but dared not approach. Her mother, and the fawn's mothers lingered nearby. He didn't want them to see him. He didn't want thier strange, pitying glances.

He rammed his small kirin antlers into the stump, ignoring the ringing that went through his skull from the resounding force. If anyone passing by had asked what he was doing, he'd answer "training". He saw how strong his parents were. He wanted to be strong, too. Thus, he trained himself often. The stump was already covered with marks, proof that the young stag had done this many times before. Soon, he'd switch to sprinting, before taking a break at the pond.

The Dragonfly Deer's Biography
“I meant to do that,”
Her attention was drawn away as her cousin addressed her once more. Turning her head curiously, she tilted it to one side, blinking at the doe before following her gaze toward the pond. Friend? Standing quite a ways off was a fawn, the spots still visible on his dark pelt. He seemed to be looking at them. Her tongue stuck out a bit as she peered forward, straining to make out his pictogram.
”Mmmmmmm OH! It’s Uio! HEY UIO!” she shouted excitedly upon recognition, half rearing and stomping at the flowers. She then began to make her way towards him, only to stop short uncertainly and glance back at the two does. She thought a moment, looking back and forth between the two, before making her decision and bounding toward Uio. He was, after all, her age, and there was nothing stopping the other two from following. In fact she’d love to introduce him, if only she had the social skills.
“Hewo!” she called as she came nearer, her run turning into bounds and leaps.
[I'll have Kail see spade after Uio replies...or whoever else XD I think she'd get a kick out of him hehe]
"Uio! That's it!" She saw
Fulu caught sight of the three and sauntered over to them. She smiled, seeing Uio and Kailani together again. She was glad she had a friend other than Tybalt. He was a good care taker, but not the greatest role model. Not that she could stop her daughter from idolizing him, though. At that thought she sighed, but shook it off. "Hello Uio. How are..." She looked at him fully now. "Goodness sakes, Uio! You need a bath!" She got a little closer to him, lowering her head and softening her voice. "I could bathe you if you want..."
(SORRY IF FULU SEEMS... i dunno, creepy, im just trying to make her seem helpful XD she most likely knows Uio doesnt have a mom and probably wants to partially adopt him or something, i dunno, but i kinda jumped at that "wanting a bath" thing XD SORRY. ill take it out if its too creepy XDDD)

Devi wrinkled her skull to show her distaste for the young male fawn, her grey eyes glinting with dissaproval. Her golden ears flicked and she looked farther up the shore, sighting her brother ramming up against a tree trunk. Spade! Spaaaaade! She bounced towards her twin, nearly tripping over roots and snags with her unnaturally long legs, ending up tripping anyway over the exact same trunk he was practicing on. Again, she hauled herself up and sat, exhausted next to him, watching him in amusement for several seconds. You have Uncle Vipin's antlers. She commented, rather smugly, and without waiting for an answer spoke again. So what mask do you want? I think that loooong brown one would be good for you.
Anyoooone?... Calamity poked her head around the pillar, narrowing her eyes and searching for familiar faces. A nameless and two fawns. Bah. She frowned. She knew Aspen was 'spending some time' with Magnet (In her mind, that meant other things.) and Vipin was making sure Xylia do anything that could harm her and her future child. Was she the only one without a mate these days? She sighed and pranced in the direction of the Pond, her mane of green feathers untidily wrapping around her face.

Some pebbles fell to the ground, disturbed from where they had been resting atop the ruins. Kinsha paid them no mind as he sniffled. He'd had a cold for the past few days, and though it wasn't that bad anymore, it was still enough to get on his nerves. Sniffling again, he laid his head back on his legs, careful to keep his balance, staring blearily at the moss lining the stone. He probably caught someone's attention with that sneeze, but at the moment he could care less. He just wanted this cold GONE already!
[Kinshi got that cold just before the snow in the Forest. Oh, the timing. XD]

(Rofl Cal's humor does that
Really? I don't get a mask, but I think it's really cool how everything grewed in naturally. I likes my pelt n' mask n' antlers. But I thought I was... A doe, I mean, aren't I suppose' to have nooo antlers? She continued on, switching subjects every few seconds and blabbering incoherently a few times before sighting Carilynn and stopping. Her little skull brightened and her grey eyes met with Spade's identical ones, and she nodded toward the pond. It's Auntie Cal! I heard she's really fuuuun. Come on~ She nudged her twin towards the pond with her now-blunt beluga antlers, pausing to call the brown doe over. Calamity's ears pricked and swivelled, her Day of the Deer mask creased into a pondering 'o'. Weeeell, if it i-i-isn't the little pppunks! She bounced over, somehow not tripping over the various snags like Devi had.

The Dragonfly Deer's Biography
Kailani slid to a stop in
“In’t he cool?” she giggled to Faytha, once more talking of him as though he were a possession.
Green eyes watched curiously as her mother was spotted approaching the group. She looked on excitedly as the older doe addressed her friend, giggling at her statement. He really was rather dirty. Kailani liked to roll about in the dirt from time to time too, but she couldn’t imagine looking that way all the time. Uio however didn’t seem to take her mother’s intrusion very well. She watched curiously as he stumbled back, water splashing up on him before he appeared to slip in the mud and fall into the shallows. Her eyes grew wide for a moment and she held her breath, wondering what the little male would do. She knew of his dislike for the water, though never fully understood the reason. Upon seeing his weary yet alright expression her ear flicked forward, and she couldn’t help but let out a little snort of laughter.
“Uio, you siwy thing” she mimicked something her parents had once said to her, trotting boldly into the water and circling around him, peering down at him with a goofy smile.
“Mama gives good bathes. Better than icky pond water. You’re gonna smell like fish,” she advised, leaning in closer and playfully sniffing at him before puffing her cheeks out and making fish lips while wrinkling her nose. She couldn’t hold the pose long, bursting into another fit of laughter before leaping promptly over him and running to hide behind Faytha in case he retaliated.
[REALLY srry for the wait!]
Faytha, though slightly
She looked up for a moment and smiled, seeing he was okay, and took a little pleasure in watching her cousin prance about him. She let out a soft giggle, waiting for Uio to get up. "She's got a point, Uio, we don't want another fishy deer, do we?" She was, of course, referring to Tropa, who she had known through Clock, who was probably her best adult friend. Along with the thought of Tropa, she thought about the stag she had fallen inlove with, though forgotten his name and his appearance. She sank into her own little world in thought, desperately trying to remember his name before Fulu caught her attention again.
"Well, I won't do it if he doesn't want one." Fulu smiled gently, trying to ease away. She didn't want to come off too strong, after all, Uio was a little shy around mothers. She didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable or sad, although she didn't know the entire story. She lowered one ear, and raised another, which was a subtle way of mimicking Kailani. She never did it on purpose, actually, it just happened after her daughter was born. A sort of unconscious link between mother and daughter. Zilant pointed it out once, but she wasn't paying attention at the time. She tilted her head at the dark little fawn in patience.
(okay, i realize i said Faytha had blue eyes before, but i got mixed up... you can see where her terrible memory comes from XD)

The Dragonfly Deer's Biography
In't he cool? The statement
The statement made the already flustered fawn blush with the embarrasment of a compliment. Or he took it that way, anyway. Uio stood up, lowered his head to the water, eyes gazing upward at Fulu. He disregarded being called 'siwy' quickly, but certainly hadn't expected Kailani to wade in and make the water sting into his nostrils. The all too familiar feeling to helplessness; of drowning; of slipping beneath the surface rose up in his mind like a furious barking stag; but was immediatly diminished when Kailani sauntered up playfully. He spun around after the bold fawn who circled him, eyeing her; probably sizing her up for a good tackle. He coiled back when she mimicking the fish, and threw up his stubby antlers playfully, bolting after her. They squealed and play-fought, until Fathya spoke up.
"Another?" he questioned, skidding to a halt as Kailani leapt for cover underneath her mother's stomach and giggled. His unproportionally large ears swiveled forward when Fulu spoke, and his tail shot up, making him stand taller and more confidently, despite his uneasyness. Slowly, his tail and ears fell flat and his hindquarters dropped in submission. Uio padded up to Fulu, looking away and ready for a good cleaning. The pond incident had already cleaned him considerably, and with being wet his caved in, emaciated stomach was even more obvious.
---
Don't worry; Uio will get better. He's beginning to adjust to adult food, and despite a little malnourishment from not suckling, he'll pull through it all just fine. :3
Faytha giggled, "Yeah, I
Fulu smiled softly as Uio came over to her, glad that he accepted her offer. She lowered her head gently and began cleaning him. Though he was already mostly clean, he was still wet. And being wet wasn't too pleasant for a fawn. He needed some drying off. She looked at his skinny stomach with a little silent sigh. No way for a fawn to live, though he seemed to be doing fine. She continued until he was almost completely clean and dry, then went over to the water for a drink. She lifted her head to look over at the group, and smiled at Uio, "There, all done. Not so bad, was it?"
---
The young fawn laughed as
Then again, as much as she boasted her mother’s bathes, she honestly couldn’t say she’d want to be in his place.
She took another step forward once the process was complete and looked him over, tilting her head to one side, and in such a way that her flopped ear for once appeared to stand tall upon her head.
“You’re bumpy,” she stated bluntly, eyeing his ribs and hip bones through his drying fur. She leaned closer and closer, continuing to inspect him, then suddenly lifted her head and gave his cheek a wet lick, giggling and running off, splashing through the shallows and ducking into a cluster of cattails.

"She was a frog?!" Uio was
Uio was amazed, but it didn't show because Fulu's tongue slid over his forehead again and scrunched down his brow. Uio bleated dissapproval, and wiggled away as she finished his grooming. Sure it wasn't as bad as he'd thought but it was strange, anyway. He missed his own mother, and wished she still here to bathe him. Kailani stepped forward, inspecting the emaciated fawn. He certainly hadn't expected her to lean in so close and inspect so closely, and so for lack of words he leaned away and folded his ears back; his torn ear lying awkwardly against his head.
"I'm what? Bumpy? No I'm--" Suddenly the female fawn's wet tongue slid up his cheek, catching the dark fawn totally off guard. He stumbled back a step, but almost immediatly recovered from the sloppy tongue attack, sliding his front hooves down and stretching out his long forelegs. His little rump remained elevated, his rich-purple furred tail waving like a stalking kitten. He leapt forward into the pond, scrambling for his footing and diving after her in the cattails..
