Rock Hounds-Infection

Please see below the cut, for while it is relatively mild, there is some material that more sensitive viewers may not enjoy.

Slick as oil, thick as tar, the infection slid over the ancient bones, consuming them with an unnatural hunger, indifferent to form and function, seeking only the source. The spark of life triggered, the bones shivered in the dirt, countless layers of dirt shaken from their grey shapes until the shape of a species long dead took form, standing on toes bereft of flesh.

Just a Rock Hound piece, for Quad. I know this isn't quite how you imagine them, but to me this is sort of a transition form, before their transition to killer by Iugulare.

I hope you enjoy! This was a fun style to work with. Smiling

Just gunna stare at this for a little while~.

Something about this, maybe the pose, or everything (which I wouldn't doubt) really grabs and keeps my attention; prods at something deep that I can't entirely pinpoint.

Oh what an absolute surprise! Your interpretation is epic, I am simply in awe! Thank you so much, Trigger, this is an amazing artwork and the writing that goes with it is beautiful and haunting!

Thank you Hraeth, I'm glad that it speaks to you on some level.

Quad, you're very welcome! I've been working on this on and off since you started with the rock hounds, but only finished it to my satisfaction last night. Smiling I'm glad you like it!

Well I love skeletons and skulls (not because I'm morbid I don't think but because I'm intrigued by anatomy and think bones are beautiful) so I think this is really neat. The concept is so "arty" too.

What are rock hounds btw?

Thanks Sighthoundlady. I

Thanks Sighthoundlady. Smiling I feel the same way, I don't find bones morbid in themselves, but rather they have a lovely architecture that is fascinating to study.

Rock hounds were created by Quadraptor as sort of a hunting pack for one of the villains of his stories. You can learn more about them here and maybe even take part in the RP event that Quad has going on! ^^

This is really beautiful. It almost looks like the Rock Hound is drawing the infection out of the heart, to me.

Thank you Anjali, and I did try to leave it up for interpretation how the infection was being portrayed, trying to keep it relatively abstract. Smiling
