resolved thanks to anzel

I know this doesnt pretain to TEF, but I need your guys help. So listen, I installed Sims 2. Then I put in the Sims 2 Pets disc, and it wouldnt work. So I went to my computer and to my surprise there was no CD DRIVE! Shocked Its GONE! It wont read any of my discs, and I cannot find it. Please help quick, I just got Sims 2 as a present and want to play it soooo bad!

........I don't know how we're supposed to help you find a CD Drive. They're kind of big and hard to lose. Or do you mean it's broke? D:

No, I dont beleive its

No, I dont beleive its broken. It still can eject the cds, and it still lights up, obliously power is running to it. It just isnt showning up in my computer, and it wont read the disks. And some of you are geniuses, unlike me, so I thought you could help. And its not that I ripped it outta my laptop and dig a hole and hide it XD

Have you tried a different

Have you tried a different disc other than the Sims ones? Try a music disc or something else, or restart if you haven't already. I have to shower now and go to a cook-out and the likes, so I can't help entirely, but best of luck to you. I hope it works--Sims 2 Pets is pretty nifty, though I'm looking forward to Sims 3 next year. <3

Is it possible that they've been burned out, in a sense?

Last summer, our computer's fan was full of cat fur and dust, and we didn't know...our computer overheated, and basically...the dvd and cd drives both went and died on us...we had to install new ones x.x

How are you sure I was right? o.o; I was just suggesting it was possible...my dad didn't figure it out until he opened up the computer...
