June 6, 2008 - 11:16pm — Anzel
If you don't like reading about fictional death or cruelty (it's honestly not that detailed, but i did write that some things died, and one caused them death. no blood or anything), then don't read. But it's really not that bad.

The idol's tears poured out eternally, into a stream of shimmering bliss and sadness. Anzel dipped her head to the water and took a sip. The warmth pelted her fur with a sensation of lethargy.
"I suppose a nap would't hurt. Do you think it would, old chap?" Anzel giggled to herself, staring at the Crying Idol. The fountain poured more and more. "I'll take that as a yes."
With a soft smile, Anzel layed down in the posies, the dew wetting her pelt, the tears splashing her ears. Her head settled upon the warmth of her pelt, and she sank down into a world of dreams...
Or so she thought...

The flames.
They licked the cave like demon's breath, seeping in and smothering all with a smoke so tenderly vicious, so chokingly vile, that waking was despised, yet desired.
The wolves, coats black as night, flickering of the tendrils of flames that bestowed light upon them, ran. Footsteps fleeing out of the deathtrap that was the cave, they found themselves encircled by a wall of fire. Eyes glowed like nightmares, but not nightmares of children.
They were nightmares of wolves.
Higher, higher still, the blaze climbed up trees, ripping leaves from their branches, kissing them a permanent good night. Yips, cries, chaos, the wolves frenzied.
"Golden Light!" screamed a masculine voice, the alpha. His eyes were filled with terror for solely his pack, not for his own singed pelt. "Watch out!" his screams were unheard, for the demons breathed louder, every breath heavy and full of childish, sinful delight.
Quickly, the old male ran towards the fae, who glowed in the firelight like an angel's golden locks. He pushed, and the fae yelped. The fire bit her, nipping her paw, savoring the taste.
"Run, daughter, run!" he howled with agony, his pelt singing ever more-so. He was heard. She fled, running, always running.
The darkness of night pierced the scorching land, as the final fae left the cave. Her eyes pierced like the northern star, ever watching, ever waiting. The alpha saw her, and tried to yell to her, but he hesitated. There was something that wasn't right about her. Despite having half of his blood in her, she seemed to absorb the fire's light as though she was the darkest of beings. Alpha licked his wounds, for the pain was unbearable. He would not leave yet, even if there were only a few moments to spare. Not everyone was free.
"MOTHER!!!" a scream of terror echoed from Dark Angel, the fae of black. Mother turned, and Dark Angel lept over her, and shoved her down with nothing but a nudge.
"What ar..." the elder fae ran towards the fallen alpha fae, but arrived right on time...for Dark Angel.
A simple nudge, and the elder lay upon the alpha fae.
The flames licked closer, closer now. The male watched in horror as his daughter, his child, used his mate and her mother...to leap out of the fire...as fire consumed them all.
...
She snickered. "Foolish creatures. It's as though they honor family more than their own lives. How pathetic."
As she spoke, she didn't miss the silver shine of a wolf, leaping over the flames, heading towards the mountains.
Her maw was dry, and the ground burned at her pads. "That did not go as planned...I suppose I have two more pathetic creatures who lives I must dabble my maw into. Ahh...what a shame."
Tisth, tisth, tisth, her paws crackled upon the burnt ground.
She ran towards the woodlands.
She knew her sibling was there.
---
She awoke, shivering, fur cold and wet with morning dew. She stood shakily up, and shook the water from her pelt. Was that...a dream?
Anzel shook her head, "It must have been...it...it must have..."
She ran off.

Hope you liked this chapter, mwahaha. By the way, Old Star is the alpha male's name, he is the father of Dark Angel and Golden Light. Golden Shimmer is their mother, she is the alpha fae. Willow Tree is the elder. She's the mother of Golden Shimmer and the grandmother of the two 'pups', who are almost fully grown.
Hehe, I hope you don't mind that I'm writing a story about wolves ;P It's actually Anzel's past life as a wolf.
Also...you have -no- idea how much fun it was to write the first paragraph or so of the 'dream'. :3
