To Regain

I have been gone for a long time it seems. It is good to be back. It was raining when I woke in the forest, on the bridge, the landscape dotted with large purple tulips. I had no time to be dismayed by my soaked fur, as to my astonishment, I found that I wore the heavy antlers of a stag...! And upon peering at my reflection, I was annoyed to discover a mask-less face and plain pelt. I'm not sure how it could have occurred, something to do with this forest's meddling magic no doubt.
So I set out to regain my original appearance. I met several different deer at first, though none seemed to understand or heed my requests, though I can assure you I was very clear. There was a deer like me, blank slate, only they did not seem inclined to receive any spells. Strange, I cannot imagine going on looking like an indistinguishable nameless. There were also two does, possibly sisters. I took a quick disliking to them, though I cannot put my hoof on why. One had the pelt of an antelope, the other was darker. I was growing quite frustrated, when I came upon a polite, small doe, who introduced herself as Herla.
She helped me with my pelt efforts for a while. Another stag approached she seemed to know, large and imposing with red antlers. We observed each other. Then the sleeping deer she had been using for spells woke up- unfortunate. I was forced to seek elsewhere. Then I came upon a large, maskless antlered doe, and a white deer, also with red antlers. They seem to be quite the trend. Finally, with help from another, skeleton pelted deer, I was quite my old self. Even my mask, though I am uncertain how this was acomplished, with all the mushrooms replaced with flora. The two does were there, standing at a slight distance. I did not trust them, and kept my eye on them. Then I thanked the deer who had helped me.
I suppose I am grateful to them.
Looking decently respectable, I went back to introduce myself to the small doe and the large stag, properly. Then I retired to the ruins. I feel that is more than enough socializing for one day. Just before I drifted off, I saw a giant bird...
