Red

"little black dog little black cat little black susie and her little black hat~!"

Whistling, scraping deep voice.
Resonating through the trees, small flakes of dark dried blood flaking in small granules from his pelt, drifting down to taint the pure forest floor, replaced by dark sanguine drops from the pulsing hearts impaled upon his tines.

Rivers flowed down over his back, down his slim legs, bloodied hoof prints upon the grass.
His metallic eyes remained blank, as if not really seeing anything at all.

"little red drops little red life little red susie and her little red knife~!"

His head bobbed with some beat within his head, once sleek antlers now slick with blood over the rough layers of dried rouge liquid that the sun had baked before it had finished creeping to the ground.

Atop the grotesque horns a mass of green flesh pumped and sputtered, slowly oozing thick rivers atop his head, slowly dripping down his small mask, only to dry before reaching the ground, forming odd flaps to either side and staining what was once upon a time an orca's mask.

"little white bird little white goat little white Thomas and his little white coat~!"

He twitched his ears.
His singing seemed to have brought attention to him.
He watched the brown doe prance up to him, her lean body arching as she bowed.
The surgeon held no interest in her.

However.
He tilted his head, ear tipping.

He could hear the warm thick pulse of her heart under her dark fur.
He licked his lips, watching as she tilted her head in confusion.

And then she was gone...

"little red pens little red facts little red Me and my little red tracks~!"

He continued on his way.
Already forgetting her.

That was the thing with him, he forgot so easily those who crossed his path, if they did nothing to truly garner his attention, he wouldn't spare them half a glance.

Stepping into the cold waters of the pond he lay down, watching as the water around him was stained auburn with newly wet blood.

He dipped his head to drink, his mask beginning to drip away.
It was fine, it would soon be back to normal.

"little green tree little green house little green Mary and her little green blouse~"

He shook himself, voice trembling with his movements until he stopped.

Fur wet, limbs no longer hindered by the splashes of dried gore that usually tainted them he continued, avoiding the sunlit patches with a look of utter revulsion.

The silence of the playground overtook him, and he raised his head, still singing, listening to his voice ring out.

"little red body little red face little red Mary and her little red place"

He flopped down, antlers grating against one of the stout stone pillars, dried plates of blood falling from his antlers as they brushed, showing gleaming white antlers through the ragged holes before they were filled with more ruby liquid.

He watched, as fawns eventually came to dance and play, offering small bows and head tilts.
He merely watched.
When they came close on delicate little hooves, he merely stood, taking a few steps back, not allowing them near the pulsating hunks of muscle set upon his tines, the beating hearts, and occasional huffing lung.

He watched as one fawn lay before him, and he watched back.

"you're kind of scary mister!" it bleated "are you here to hurt us?".

He shook his head, crimson drops raining down around him.

"child, if I were planning to harm you, do you think I would be lurking peacefully here. within the shadows in the very darkest part of the forest?"

It paused, then tilted its head in confusion.

"You have a strong heartbeat...how about I remove it...I promise to be gentle" he chuckled, sickly warm and rough, like the drying of the blood on his body.

The fawn leaped to its hooves, dancing back to its friends.
"n-no thanks!" it squeaked.

The Stag flicked his ears.

"Can't call to mom, can't say a word, You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard."

I very rarely read

I very rarely read stories/writings here, but I gotta say I really liked this one.
Vilnius is such an interesting character, creepy stuff is just love.
I think I spotted him in the forest few times earlier today. :B

Thank you, I'm very glad you liked it!
I'm sure you did, he was wandering about looking for a place to lay after drinking, but ended up getting a little distracted by the herd of fawns galloping about XD

he found somewhere to lay eventually though.

"Oh sun I wish you would go away so that I might comfortably lay..."
