The call bloomed with a breath-fog, pouring like mist from the mouth of the Cervine. As the call faded, the drumming of hooves began. Wind spirited past the being's fur, but could do nothing to quell the heat that was building in his blood as it flowed with immense friction through his veins. The building heat caused the water to flee his body through every exit.
Hooves pounded below, antlers swayed above like branches from a tall tree. The inner fires stoked the beast's energies. His eyes did not see anything, ears were too clogged by the wind rushing past, nose rendered useless by the overwhelming urge to breathe over scent. His heard thundered in harmony with his hooves.
The fire could not keep itself contained, and burst forth as glowing flame, a wild fire that consumed not only the animal, but his surroundings. The flames solidified, grappling with his antlers and puncturing his sides. Blood that spilled free only fed the starving flames. Eyes opened to the glowing and flickering, only to see the shapes the hot fire had taken.
The stag that grappled with him was a golden mass, fire and fury in the form of a rutting male. No carving had been done to his body, though the cervine wished to do some in revenge of the blood spilling from thin gashes on his own form.
The flame crackled as the pair clashed tines, grunts and hisses melding together in a symphonic crescendo. The flame fell, a hiss as it crumbled and disappeared in a cloud of ash.
It poured from the cervine, his energy and his blood. The great beast was reduced to a panting mass held up by spread legs, tines too heavy a burden to raise. The beast once again felt the cool winds of fall around him. He could see that cool wind. Blue specks dotted his vision, but did not obscure the wind. It came up and caressed him, cooling his fever.
A daze took over the stag, melting away the raging temperature. Resting his head on the rump of the wind, he was led away from the burned fighting ring. And in to another flame as the wind formed the shape of a harem behind him.
