The Black Swan



The Black Swan is a keeper of time and Forest history; an ancient vessel created alongside the birth of The Endless Forest. She is rumored to appear as a wandering entity lurking within the deepest parts of the secluded birch, or haunting the Crying Idol on even rarer occasions. Legend states that if one were to wander far enough, they may stumble upon a clearing in the woods, where all direction and sense of time are lost. Shrouded by a looming mist and dense forest, she appears waiting under the sliver of a new moon. Encounters with The Black Swan are said to be unnervingly surreal and fleeting, and are most of the time written off as just, perhaps, an unsettling dream.

Despite the years, however, after many generations of this story being passed, those who have been visited by The Black Swan all recall the same: facing a pupiless gaze, chilling, and dark; pools of black so bottomless and deep it trapped the light within them. Instead of a window to the soul, they were met with a mirror of the onlooker.

They saw only themselves.

theres so much going on in

theres so much going on in the remix. my brain is having a lot of fun trying to keep up with all of the sounds. especially the hollow ones when the first bass sound kicks in.
i love the original though. more, i think.

You're welcome, glad you like it. I'd been wanting to practice more abstract art, which is really hard for me. This is about as "abstract" as I could get, but I think Ravyn looks better in art that isn't very literal or structurally rigid. I don't know if that makes sense.

Now that I look at it again, R looks like she is spilling yoke like a cracked egg. I like.

White doesn't seem to suit

White doesn't seem to suit Ravyn, at least to me - maybe it's just because black and gold have been the colours I remember her by.

Though now that I think about it, when I first heard of Ravyn, and first noticed her biography, white was the colour I associated with her. Hm. Times certainly change.

I don't think it suits her very much either, but in the beginning it seemed to fit. At least for that short while.
Her biography and the css was also different, then, too.
And she had more innocence, until I decided to take that away.

wanted to add, i really liked reading what you wrote.
it was nice to hear all that, since i was not here for the first 2 years of her life.
it basically sums up how i was with dinamo and my first characters too.

you should be proud. she is an amazing, beautiful, simply complex character.
you don't know whats going to happen each time you see her, its refreshing.
a bit intimidating, but still refreshing.

i'm usually quite hesitant too, mainly with opinions and rants. always afraid of the backlash other people might give me if i do say something. i need a backbone, far too dependent on what others think of me.
but thats a different topic, lol.

yeah, she is a great character. she's her own. unique and so beautifully simple in design, but with many layers of complexity - but just enough. not too much.
augh. hard to describe, really. shes just perfect. thats not the right word, but like i said its hard to describe.

also sorry for making an unrelated wall, hah.

Interesting how you felt

Interesting how you felt "isolated" when there were so few players, and I felt/still feel the same way, but there were/are quite a lot of players (though not nearly as much as there are now, I'm pretty sure there were a good number of players by the time I came around.). Funny how things like that work.

Those times where I wonder what TEF would be like in the future. I imagine I'd be one of those that stayed until either I or it died, whichever came first. I'd probably just quietly leave at some point, only to find myself thinking about it years down the road, and rediscovering it.

While plenty of bad things have come out of TEF, there's been mostly good out of it. I'd probably be the same immature brat I was before I joined if I hadn't found this place.
