There are so many good stories out there, I've been inspired to write a little one of my own. It's about how I ended up in the Forest...
"Arithmetic! Where are you going?" Her mother's voice rang out.
"Right over here, mom." Arithmetic sighed. Her mother was always so protective. Too protective. "You know I prefer to be called Radio!"
"I know, but Arithmetic is your real name, and what did I tell you about running off like that?" Her mother's tone of voice grated Arithmetic's nerves. It was the kind of tone that implied something absolutely dreadful would happen if her mother did not know her daughter's exact location at all times. "What if you were to get hurt?"
"I won't get hurt, mom." Arithmetic turned her head and rolled her big, brown eyes as her mother trotted up to her. This time her mother sighed.
"You're never going to listen, are you?" Her mother's expression was stern, but her light green eyes revealed a tinge of sorrow. She knew Arithmetic would never be the daughter she had hoped for. With another sigh, she curled her legs beneath her and rested in the tall grass.
"But I always listen, mom!" Arithmetic gave her mother an exasperated look before prancing over to a patch of purple flowers. Her favorite kind!
"Don't go too far," Her mother warned. She watched as Arithmetic romped and played in the patches of grass and flowers; however, the stress of keeping track of her daughter all day caught up with her, and despite trying her hardest to keep her heavy eyelids open, she fell asleep...
Arithmetic chased bees and butterfiles, followed frogs and squirrels, and admired the birds flitting through the trees. Arithmetic was enthralled by the world around her, and all she wanted to do was explore. Her mother's warning quickly faded from her ears. She glanced over her shoulder and saw her mother's sleeping form. Now's my chance! Finally, she could get away from her mother, who was like a shadow, a cage even. Now she could get away, no one to hold her back and no one to tell her what to do. She could explore the forest untethered! Her eyes sparkled at the thought of it, and she began to run. Her breaths came deep and steady, her legs never swayed, her heart pumped with excitement-the exhiliration of running with no known destination caused her to smile despite herself. The trees and grass zoomed by, the cloudless sky the only thing steadfast in her sight, and the sound of her own hoof beats echoed through the forest, filling her ears with a rhythmic clippity-clop. She felt she could run endlessly...
Of course she could not. Arithmetic's, or rather Radio's, little legs slowed as the extent of her endurance was reached, and she began to trot. The smile never left her rounded face. She gazed at the tall trees as she passed. They were much different than the ones she was used to... something about them... something about them made her feel like she was being watched. She trotted a little faster, but soon found comfort in a large patch of her favorite purple flowers. After wrapping a few flowers around her head, she continued on her trek...
Birds and bugs sang while frogs chirped, and squirrels chattered high up in the trees. She always liked the familiar sounds of the other animals. She knew that they'd always be there. They and the sky...
The grass began to change. It went from a very dark to a much lighter shade of green. Radio sensed the air changing too. It became... lighter and clearer, not that it had ever seemed heavy before, but she could tell that this place was different. There was a glow, an inner glow that emanated from... well, everything, she could even feel it coming from her own body...
"What is this place?" She looked around in awe, her eyes wide with wonder. She was walking much more slowly now, in order to take everything in. A giant form took shape before her eyes, large and dark, rising towards the sky. It was an immense tree, and as she neared it her ears twitched with the sound of its ancient aura. When she reached its trunk, she paused momentarily to looked up into its thick branches. "Whoa..." She whispered. Something glinted in the corner of her eye, and she pulled her eyes away from the old tree to get a better look. Across a great, sparkling pond there sat a hunk of white gleaming stone, but Radio could not make out exactly what it was. She had to get closer...
Making her way around the pond, she kept her eyes on the glowing stone, which, as she grew nearer, became two stones. "Ah ha!" she gasped with glee and ran up the little hill on which the two large stones were perched. They had a kind of presence, a kind of resoluteness that reminded Radio of a guardian... or a mother. Thoughts of her mother began to fill her mind. "It was good that I left," she told herself, but she still felt a little guilt. Her poor mother would be so worried... Radio shook her head. No. She had done the right thing. She needed to get away, and fate brought her to this wonderful place. She knew that she belonged here, that she was supposed to be here, though she by no means knew why; however, the why did not matter. She was here... she was home...

Uh, wow! That ended up being much, much longer than I thought it'd be... xD
Enjoy! Or not. Though, if no one reads the whole thing or comments that's ok... this was fun to get out. And sorry for any typos, etc. Edit: Now that I've slept, I just had to fix those typos! I'm sure there are still some I missed... ^^;
Me gusta mucho :3 Nothing
Nothing much more to say, heh.
Except that I didn't realize Radio was a girl. Foofles, my plot has been spoiled before it began.
*brain sizzles* (i won't explain XD; )
Hey thanks, Anzel! <3 Yes
Yes she is a she. xD
Oh noes! Did Anzel run away too? Hehe.
I haven't decided upon her
But I was referring to the fact that I thought Radio was a he, and since they were a she, my little idea kind-of died. Not saying XD;
XD XD XD XD XDdat funny
LOLOLOLOL. XDD
Huh? What's so funny about
If you thought I was referring to something funny...I wasn't, lol.
I lol'd becaues it's early
And now I reeeeeeeeeeeeaally wanna know. xD;;;
Alright. Keep this hush
But alas, my idea died due to the fact that Radio is a female, and Anzel doesn't 'bend that way'
Hehe. Actually I wasn't
Actually I wasn't sure myself if Radio was a girl or boy until I went in the forest a few times...
I feel silly now XD; Sorry
Aww, you haven't been a pain
In fact, I was gonna make Radio a boy, but I already have a male deer... hehe.
