I finally figured out how to work my scanner! 8D *feels accomplished*

Heh, yes, I'm thinking about making Jack a fan character, but I'm not sure yet...because I don't know if I'd be able to play him right ^^" So for now, here's some art C:



FFFFF his face...is not his face D8 But I'm sure most of you know what he looks like anyway ;]
And, I tried to make it look like he's coming toward us a little bit, which is why his rump is smaller than his shoulders...but he just looks lopsided...poor lopsided Jack :C Yes, his antlers are swords :3

Well, I hope I did him some justice...^^"

Oh yes, and critique is strongly encouraged (because as you can see, I really need to improve ^^")

One thing to remember about

One thing to remember about perspective is that if his body is tilted as though coming towards us, it should appear shorter, not longer. That distortion is call Foreshortening. You have a good start with making his rump smaller; your logic is sound there, but maybe look for reference to see what I mean about the foreshortening.

Ohhh yeah, I go to the "style your deer" thing on dA all the time, making sets for deer that don't exist. Heh, maybe I'll decide to round up ol' Barbosa for fun x3 It'd be nice to have a "sort of bad guy but not really". My current "bad guy" is (also a fandeer) much more... high maintenance and complex (or entirely too simple). Barbosa always been my favorite character from pirates :B (*rant*Will and Elizabeth can die in a hole they're so annoying thank goodness their plot is over*rant*)

Oh me too! It can get addicting at times x3 I was thinking of the beluga pelt or DOTD pelt for him, with the antelope antlers to represent swords, but that's just my imagination |D Yes, he's my second favorite after Jack <3
FFFF I feel the same way! Elizabeth was just annoying, and everyone she kissed died D8 (at least Jack came back though 8D)

Oh my gosh, this is an awesome idea! I can picture durr-Jack now: stumbling around in the forest, wailing about rum. XD The design looks great! Foreshortening is definitely tricky, but I can tell what pose you wanted to put him in. There are some great tutorials for accomplishing foreshortening, but perhaps the most handy thing to do is to use perspective lines! c8

Lol, yes!! If only we could use the BAN pelt, I'd make a Blackbeard durr! :<

Ah! Perspective lines are a handy and easy shortcut to foreshortening, in which you draw a bunch of lines that are connected to the horizon line, like so. These lines create a grid of sorts and act as guidelines for placing characters and creating poses. You can add as many lines as you want, and in any fashion you want so long as you have the horizon line to guide you! c8 It's kind of tough to explain, but it is pretty simple. You'll definitely need a ruler handy though!
