its hard to explain but you have to find a hill that when you move the camera correctly, the ground becomes invisible. Then you slowly walk towards the camera & it will be close up.
You know how sometimes if you're at the base of a hill and you zoom in all the way, the camera seems to go *through* the hill to get to your deer? That's what you do here. Find a hill and settle yourself near the base (I like to use the hill of the Twin Statues), then zoom in. When you set the camera angle just right, your deer will appear to "sink" into the ground a little bit, into the black area. When that happens, position your deer and start slowly walking (press the up and down arrow keys at the same time) towards the camera. If you keep walking, you'll eventually get a nice closeup. Just don't move the camera or speed up your deer, otherwise it will go back to normal.
There's probably an easier way to do this, but this is the method I use. Good luck!
