It Begins

Nippon means Japan in Japanese. Toushin means Eastern China in Japanese.

Deep in Nippon, there lives a Sika Deer herd. They used to run freely across the plains, their chocolate-brown fur blowing in the breeze, until Syaoran, the mix of a Water Deer and a Tibetan Wolf, took over Nippon and Toushin. He became ruler of all Deer herds and Wolf packs in the area, and at caused much chaos and corruption among the animals. One of the many horrid things he did was taking every male creature to his palace located deep in the forests of Toushin and judge them. Syaoran's goal was to eventually take over the world, and needed an army to do this.

The animals Syaoran thought were strong enough to become warriors were brainwashed, and forced to fight forever. They were trained to attack any animal on sight other than the other soldiers and Syaoran himself. The ones he thought were too weak were taken back and treated harshly by Syaoran's guards, which watched to make sure no animals escaped. The ones who Syaoran thought was a threat to him and his army were executed.

What made it more horrible was that Syaoran had the power to control weather in the area, and made it so that it only rained when Syaoran decided to. This gave the animals little or no food and water. Syaoran also forced the weakest deer to fight gladiator fights for his entertainment.

He did so many awful things that listing them would nearly fill a whole book. Worst of all, the deer and wolves were not powerful enough to overthrow him. However, it is said that Yue, an old deer-wolf hybrid as well, foretold that a deer who's fur was as white as snow would be born into the world in shine in the darkness, and would save Nippon and Toushin from Syaoran's evil power. And this deer would be known as the Arubino Deer. These were her last words as she died from her oldness.

Years later, Asaka the doe and Minowa the buck had a single daughter. When she was born, she was surrounded by a radiant light. She was albino, her fur seemed as though it were made of snow, her eyes resembling two cherry blossoms flying in the wind. The proud parents knew it was the Arubino Deer, as every single detail of Yue's prophecy fit with the newborn fawn's features. They named her Mitsuko.

Asaka and Minowa tried to keep this a secret, but the word got out that the Arubino Deer was born. When this news reached Syaoran's ears, he was outraged and order the fawn and her parents to be killed at once. Asaka and Minowa were desperate to save the fawn, and ran like the wind to a portal they had both found when they were younger deep in the forest. The portal would lead to the a place only Asaka and Minowa knew, known as the Endless Forest. There Mitsuko would be safe until she was grown and understood her destiny. They pushed the fawn into the portal and blocked it, and the fawn was warped away into the land while her parents were slaughtered by Syaoran's warriors.

And Mistuko was gone like that, landing in a world far away. Syaoran's warriors reported that she was dead. However, few had faith that the Arubino fawn will return...
