Was anyone here back when the forest was first created?
...could anyone give me a good, general history of the forest, and significant events? Famous births, pairings, conflicts, love and hatred, confusion, everything!!!
If anyone can contribute any significant events (the before, the during, and the after), it would help -alot-.
I want to write poetry about the forest. Since I am "new", I don't know everything about the past...I don't know how others saw Sluggs, how it was when he first paired with his mate, the way that Run really was, maybe her final visit, maybe meeting her...
Or maybe...when waterwalking was discovered...the first abio...anything that could be written about, anything from the history of TEF!!!
If you feel "You're new, go away, the history is none of your business," you can tell me :/ I don't mean to offend anyone.

Since I don't know much about many occurences...I shall write something that just came to mind.

---
--- the beginning, endless ---
Green
Unto the soil, dusted over with agony
Within the air, unbreathen and unhidden
The mountains, millions of miles long
Eternal, and endless in every direction
Moving, withering like flowers petals in the rain
Singing, songs of the unborn ev'ry day
Waiting, for the birth of something new
Born now, solely pebbles 'mongst the clay
Running, faster and fast as you can
Winding, blowing faster and chills again
Crying, searching for something new
Dying, so the world is born, again
Green
Shooting from everywhere
Mothers screaming without a care
Endless, forever yelling out,
"Wither; no, you must rise, rise out!!!"
Chilling, night breezes bite
Willing, still, I must fight
Freedom from the prison of
Caring mother soils, of love
Growing, up, up
Flying, up, up
With green wings, up, up, up
Higher now, reach the sun one day
Green
The paradise unfolds
Not fitting the simple molds
Of soil, tumbling over as the
Children rise up, silently, to the sky
Tritter trot, on leaves, dampened now
With father's tears, softly clamping down
All the soil, hiding something
Unbeknownst, to the unknowing
Green
Ages pass, walkers die out
After they'd risen up so high
Nothing stands as tall as a tree
Nothing sees more than it can see
Sewn together, roots eternal clasp
Hand in hand, root in root, branch in branch
Clasped together, hiding from the world
Endless now, forever has unfurled
'Neath the floras, hiding in the grass
Dandles nuzzling at a sweet young lass
Or is it lad? Beating heart, glowing eyes, cringing nose
Sniffs the light above its head, it knows
Rises up, standing tall forever
Growing old, withstanding the weather
Petrified masters watching it
Ivory now, but the world it knit was
Green as the soils all had achèd
Anchored down by eternity
Whose presence rang from ear to ear
Singing out, for the world to hear
Left behind, but not long forgotten
Walkers' Ruins, became part of the
Endless Child of the Earth and Sky
Home to the Fawn, Doe, and to Stag alike

Hope you liked it...*hides*
That was incredible!
Thank you :3 I can't write
I can't write many more things, though...I don't know enough history or drama from TEF.
*thinks*
I honestly don't know anything big enough to write about. Like, love dramas, or drama dramas, or history in the making.
Ooh, maybe if I learned a bit more about Walter...
You can send me a message through my profile if you want to, if anyone knows anything :3
Going through the support
I guess the thing I was probably most known for was being the first (on the forums anyway) to play consistently as a female character. That happened about a year ago.
Hehe, and if you need info on Walter I can most likely help with that!
Welcome. I've written some
I've written some stuff on here but not about the Forest. I more or less express my current feelings and thoughts through my deer.
So don't stress about not knowing the history of the Forest because you're not alone. Though I too am interested in what happened before I joined.
I want to write the history
Maybe, if I wrote enough poems, I could make an entry with links to the stories of all of the deer and drama in the forest, for the fawns who were too young to ever know about these things.
Ephra - Is there any way you could tell me of your struggles, beginning to end? :3 Not trying to be a bother, but it'd be a very interesting poem to write. That, and what Walter was like, if you could tell me I know a bit, but only little pieces of the story.
Basically, I'd need all of the different parts of a story :3 The introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion, like a story :3 My stories are always too short, so I decided a poem would be better.
Documenting the entire
Fortunately, my history here has been relatively.. struggleless. I made it a point to not set a bad example for others who wanted to play as females. I was even able to make friends with many of the players who were opposed to the idea. Some months afterward there were a few episodes of drama regarding 'mates' (which I also made a point of never taking seriously), maybe I could go into detail about that, but I'd have to look up some old threads to make sure my story's straight.
My earliest memories of Walter are from the forum, about mid-July or August last year. He was interesting to me because he was the first aggressive, bully character on the game (although Cyric arrived not long afterwards, I think). He was quickly becoming notorious for his grumpy behaviour! I followed him around some in the game, and for a while I even helped pick on fawns with him and his friends, but I mellowed out pretty quickly. Regardless, I followed him around so often that we seemed to be able to pick up on each other's 'body language' better than most, and in spite of our different personalities, we became very good friends! Some probably consider our deer a couple but we never really became official 'mates', and considering the drama and jealousy that concept brought I think it was for the best.
I'm not sure what else to write about now. Is there anything I should elaborate on?
I just need a little bit at
Hmm...I missed Walter's retirement party, what was it like?
I'm not sure if I actually
The first and last time I saw him during that period, there was a large group of deer following him around, looking very sorrowful, lots of head hanging and bellowing. I think we spent most of the time near the pond and the twin gods. After leading the deer to a special area and gesturing for them to sit, Walter and I gave a performance; it was a dance in the purple flowers with the fireflies (we have been doing this for such a long time I don't remember when the tradition started. ) After that, I had to leave the computer for a while, and when I came back he was gone. I slept beneath his tree for the rest of the night, I think. (Hard to recall because his tree is so close to mine. ) I think some others sat at Run's spot of sunlight to mourn for him, but I stayed behind.
edit: I am off to bed now, hopefully my head will be clear for more memory work tomorrow.
I must say...Thank you,
I knew from the beginning when I entered the Forest that I was going to be a bit of an outcast since people probably already had groups of friends and bonds; just like starting at a new school, it can be hard to fit in. Now after reading some of the older posts, I can see just how close some people are and how well they know each other. It's something that I haven't been able to do yet so I guess you could say I feel more out of the circle.
It's also hard to believe that I missed some of the drama by just a few weeks.
That poem is just jazzy! I
And I have nothing to add to 21's documentation of Walter. She remembers better than I do!
