Hello! I`ve been scrolling through a lot of Gen 3 pictos on the registration site recently, mostly just out of curiosity. It got me wondering- what do you guys think of Gen 3 pictograms in general- or furthermore, all of the generations?
I find some Gen 3 pictograms to be very pretty. For example,
this one, this one that this account belongs to. I pretty much fell in love with this one when I first got it. Some other Gen 3 pictograms seem to be more just little squiggles and lines-and while I tend to gravitate away from them, I still find them to be unique in their own way.
Like a lot of people here, I love Gen 1 pictos. While I don`t own one, I find their designs and appearance in general quite beautiful and distinct. I guess that they`re the "classics" in a way, and I would love to own one one day.
As for Gen 2 pictos, I haven`t seen them as much. I do find some of them quite intriguing, though.
So, what do you think? Just a general opinion. I`ve noticed that a lot of Gen 3 pictos tend to took similar- but I don`t we`re getting another generation anytime soon...
I like the leaf like symbols
Yeah,I push the jumbled looking ones aside though, they're hard to recgonize in-game,and they just appear sloppy.
I think all generations have
I also love Gen 2's. [url=http://tale-of-tales.com/TheEndlessForest/register/pictogram.php?username=Hakuu[/url] is one I managed to pick up. I love it
Gen 1's are kind of over rated. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one though x'D They are pretty, but I haven't really seen much variety, over the lines and some curls.
I have seen the most variety in Gen 2-3 so far.
I honestly fell in love with
Osmotious
His resembles an eye for me.
Ayaki
Her's reminds me of birds flying in the rain. <3
Pela
Her's looks like a flower with some leaves.
Amanecer
His reminds me of a sun rising over the mountain tops. Hence why is name means Dawn in spanish.
I agree that each Gen has
These are my Gen 3 pictos.
I'm fond of every pictogram
I love the Gen 3 ones for their leafs and squiggles but I have to admit that I have a hard time recognising some of them ingame.
Gen 2s were around when I joined the game. Naturally they are the easiest for me to remember.
Some of the Gen 1 pictos look very pretty but I don't get the popularity they seem to have around the community. They often seem to be some kind of status symbol and I'm not really a fan of all those "art for Gen 1" or "trading Gen 1 for Gen 1 only" posts. It's actually kind of weird to see the same thing happening with the Gen 2s now (albeit it's not that often).
Like I said: for me it's important to have a distinguish feature. I don't care about their Generation.
I think the hype for gen 1s
But now really it's meh. Usually now I'll go for gen 2s since I want people with an older version of the game to still recognize me.
I have to admit I'm among
Gen 2 pictos are generally the ones I like the least of all three generations, but there are of course some nice one out there, especially those with dots and circles.
In the beginning I thought the gen 3 pictos looked really nice, but after a while it became really difficult to tell many of them apart. I never planned to get any gen 3 picto - because I didn't really need it - but I browsed through them out of curiosity and when I came across this I simply had to have it, I think it's very pretty. <3
/end ramble
Wow Snow that is a super
I too have difficulties telling some of the Gen3s apart. That might also just be caused by the fact that they're the most abundant, though.
I think Gen1 was as a whole the nicest-looking generation. Gen3 comes after that, and then Gen2. Gen2's glyphs were too complex (like the 'M') which caused a majority of them to look cluttered. I really like the flow of Gen3 and the circle elements. Gen1 feels like a great all-rounder. Of course, you could still spend hours scrolling trying to find a truly good Gen1.
I have a lot of pictos from each gen that I love. (most of which I've given away by now) Each gen has its gems.
In regards to trading, I gotta say I agree with Amazegenalo on the concerns about Gen1s as "status symbols". That has always left sort of a bad taste in my mouth, which is why I refuse to take any type of payment for giving away first gens. What I do try to make sure is that the pictos I give away are in regular use. I gave away over ten Gen1s back when registration was closed, none of which are active anymore. I did gift some others after that because I thought it was better to give them to someone who will get some use out of them but I honestly don't really like it much and if anything, the people who don't have a single Gen1 should be the ones to get that opportunity, which is something I neglected doing. I'm not thinking badly of anyone who asks for them but I kinda feel we just need to move on from that stuff.
[e]: I want to list some examples of pictos I like..
Gen1: Teokin, Teapot, Deathday (that picto's been going rounds! I have no idea who owns it at this point)
Gen2: Coordinate, Pericon, Toivokke
Gen3: Eide, escapist, Niriya (not mine, I just love Pica's picto)
Oh man, don't even let me
I'd never regret that I've posted blogs where I want to trade a gen1 to art or another of the same gen. Most of the gen1's are just what my eyes find beautiful.
Round gen3's are very nice too, but usually they're just a mass of lines, as well as gen3's are full of leaves and are very hard for me to recognice in-game (apart from the few, symmetrical ones which were snatched right from the start, like my first gen3 picto for one of my characters).
Ah well, just my two cents.
Unplugged; It is, isn't it?
It is, isn't it? :'D
Awh, I really like Teapot. Swirl. <3
