This is dedicated to a deer, and a person, who I never got to meet. She was known as Run, beloved by everyone in the forest, a former mate to Sluggs...
Who was killed in a car crash, her sister said...
I hope not to disappoint a single soul who remembers Run, and I hope I do not tarnish her in any way...I tried my very, very best to write a poem of her that I felt she deserved.
And Ephra...would you allow me to add your beautiful picture of the memorial to this poem?
Here is the poem...I hope you find it fitting...

--- may you Run forever ---
Running on forever in eternity
A kiss from the heavens
A raindrop from the cirrus
Whence the angels, blessèd, hover
And where she fell, the deer rose
To stare upon the rose that had bloomed
A doe, sweethearted, soon to become
The friend of everyone and everyone to be
Soaring over the rugged landscapes of the forest
Beside her friends, they ran
A symphony of hooves, of wingbeats,
Running beside an angel, they had wings
And so one day
She met a stag masked behind a skull
And her heart fluttered, she blushed
As pink as dawnlit nights and February's precious arrow
And so the stag, the King of Glitches
Sat beside his Queen,
An angel fallen down to Earth
The sweetest doe of all
A cry
Pierced the sky
A thousand trumpets blew, synchronized
To scream to the heavens, "Why?..."
For the fallen angel
Cursèd by a sudden fate
The fae who had blessèd all who had come to know her
Was called back to cirrus in the sky
And the sky of the forest grew dark,
And the hearts of the many deer fell to ground with broken wings
And tears streamed down the faces of the ones who truly loved her
And lowly did their heads hang down, in mourning of the sweet
And sent down from the heavens
Was a star of silvern brightness
Circling o'er a flora
In the depths of forest's midnight
And in the air, the stars flew 'round
And sang a somber sound along
The path to the memorial
Of the angel's rising up, to home
They sat around the candlelight
Around the star, in dead of night
And prayed that now, her final flight
To heaven, should be safe
At last, they turned away
From the star of love and loss
And they looked to heaven, and she looked back;
And they all began to Run...
