Down, down, he bowed his head, to look at the small thing curled at his side. She reminded him of cold water on hot summer days, ice in a fevered man's mouth. She reminded him of all things at ease, relief after strain, tension let go.
"Is there aught you can think of that destroys better than heat, than fire? Fire cleanses everything: a forest, burned to ashes, will grow green once more. Dirt filled with a volcano's soot will produce the most stubborn of flowers. After all has been burned asunder, anything is possible, mine little one. Anything at all."
That was not the answer she wanted to hear; he could see it in the set of her features, in the delicate slope of her mouth, the gentle draw of her brows.
It was not the answer she wanted, but it was the answer she accepted. She tilted her head, a little leaning tower, built to admire, the warm of her breath curling at a chin of bone, forever smiling and amused.
I love the design of Lu-deer. She's so pretty. And Bylah's teeth and the fur on his throat. He looks very pet-able. While at the same time, not so much.
Isn't she? ;; I love the white spots on her - it's a great interpretation of the spotted pelt. And Bylah does look rather approachable in this shot, though still dangerous. I love it. *-*
These are both lovely, Lu. Your deer is beautiful and I love the bear trap on Bylah. Your style is so recognizable and easy on the eyes. Very nice work, as always.
Gorgeous, really. Such small artworks and such great impact. I love the fur shading on Bylah and the lighting on the doe. Her design is lovely, by the way.

...not sounding as good as in my head >.> the sense of my words always flees and leaves the others behind...
