The scene was both enticing and romantic. The sun setting, candles lit leading the way to the middle of the garden, where a table was set luxuriously.Sierra walked through the garden a little surprised
at all the gestures. It was a beautiful sight to behold.Coming into the little space she was greated but Jeremy.
"You look lovely this evening"he said bowing and taking her hand and leading her to the table.
"And you look very handsome tonight"it wasn't a lie after all.
As they were seated violinists began to play a peaceful tune. There courses arrived and they both enjoyed the peace.
"Thank you for the meal,it was kind of you to invite me"she said giving him a small thankful smile
"The pleasure was mine, but if you do not mind I have request to make of you"he said seriously.
She cocked her head to the side wondering what the rquest could be,"I will try,but was is it that you wish to request.?"she asked
"Dance for me please,I have the same song you danced to at the ball so it would be a familiar tune for you he said smilling.
Her heart seemed,to stop and it felt like it had been hit with a dagger. Her cheeks were blushing and she felt a little dizzy. She struggled to keep her composer ,but calmly replied,"I'm sorry Prince Jeremy but I'm afraid I don't feel all to well at the moment."she stood entending to leave.
The prince saw the change in Sierra and became instantly worried."I hope I have not offended you"he said going to her side his tone was one of begging and questioning.
"No,it's nothing you did Jeremy"she said sincerly.
The sound of his name, being said by her voice soothed him."Do you wish me to escort you back to your room"? he asked ready to take her hand.
"That's not necessary I can make it back on my own"her voice was sweet and reasurring so with a gently kiss on her hand he let her go.
It was hard to resist the urge to run out the garden but she restrained her legs from going any faster than a calm lady like pace.
She made her way into the castle but did not go back to her room.Instead she went into a room that was not far away from either her room or the nursery. She was not alone as she made her way into this room. The goblins had spied on her in the garden for they were curious creatures. As Sierra opened the door ,the room had beautiful long parallel windows, but the most important thing was the black grand piano in the middle of the room. She did not light candles for she preferred the moonlight that seeped in.
Her slow steps echoed in the room, her little goblin friends all peeked through the opening slot in the door, but did not enter. They could sense something was wrong,so they naturally were there incase she needed them.
A sigh escaped her lips as she sat down. Her heart pained as she started to play.It was the piece she danced for Jareth at the ball.
A few tears escaped her eyes as she performed but she did not bother to wipe them away. She had never guessed in her wildest dreams that she would be asked to dance for some one.Much less to that song, she felt that in a way it would be unloyal to Jareth.Dancing for Sierra was something she took very seriously and held very close to her heart.
But then again it really wasn't a matter of loyalty, because it was one-sided.She had pledged her love and devotion, but never had she gotten a positive response from him.She gave him everything, without a thought, she trusted him with her life and would willingly give her own to safe his.
The song ended and the goblins were all quiet, they all recognized the song but did not understand the meaning behind it.Nor why Sierra seemed to be upset.Sierra paused for a moment, before getting up and exiting the room. The goblins immediately cleared the way as she made her way directly to her room.
Sleep was not however a consideration for her at this moment, instead she undressed and let her haird down. She then found a pair of leggings and a decent shirt, and her boots. After dressing she silently made her way to the stables where her white stallion waited. She coaxed Little Prince out of his stall very easily. Not bothering with the bridal or a saddle she mounted him bareback. They galloped in the meadow under the stars for awhile before they stopped along side a pond.
It was here they both rested.Little Prince lay on the ground and Sierra sat beside him.She gently stroked his neck and lay her head on his back. She said no words but she seemed to find comfort in this companionship. It was here she fell asleep under the starry night sky.
