Old yet New (Roleplay anyone?)

SinAI's picture
I think it is time for me to begin on this site, by introducing a character. Well, my character that is.
I may be new to the site, but not necessarily new to role playing etc (although I may be a bit rusty)

So, that being said critiques are always welcome, I am always looking for new input.
So without further ado, here is a character in progress. ^-^

Name: Sen
True/Picto name: Unknown
Age: Older fawn. True date of birth unknown
Gender: Male
Pelt: Basic fawn (has yet to grow into his true pelt)
Antlers: None
Mask: None
Picto: http://tale-of-tales.com/TheEndlessForest/register/pictogram.php?usernam...
Likes: Using magick, yet has no understanding of it. Water, he is entranced by reflections. Sen also enjoy to run, he is built for speed being lighter and leaner than many. He feels when he runs, he is one with the wind. He also enjoys the wind, for to him it speaks messages, and tells of danger or of places needed to be. The company of other deer also used to be something he treasured, but since his misplacement, he has had a hard time adjusting to the different deer here in the forest.

Dislikes: Being surrounded by many unfamiliar deer. He also hates undue attention from those he knows little of.

Other: Being young, he still has much to learn on the world and is naive, and doesn't usually know how to act in situations, relying mostly on instinct or his default, running away.

Physical health: 100%
Mental health: 90%

Recently:
Awakened to find himself in the forest. No idea how he arrived, no idea why he is there. All he can remember is a song in a dream and a deer with a pelt that shone like the moon with tears of bittersweet sadness in her eyes, antlers bearing red flowers like that which adorned the forest floor. Her scent like that of his birth mother, her voice speaking as many, but sounding as one. He stayed hidden for the day, venturing only for a moment to graze.

Slept within the hollow of a tree, no vision or dreams but just a distant sound of singing. Sen, despite his apprehension, finally adventured past the trees and came across a pond, containing other deer of his breed. One such deer found an interest in him, and after a moment of fear, proceeded to explain as best as he could to the fawn, that he was in a place known as the Endless Forest. However, the deer was soon called back to his herd and before Sen could decide to follow or hide, the deer vanished. Sen, lost from his venture hid behind a small fountain and proceeded to sleep, with the hope his dreams would soon lead him to a better understanding of the world he had found himself in.

Also: Please note I'm still

Also: Please note I'm still unsure as to where people roleplay (on the site), how to (In game) so...Humor me for a while haha.

"Meet me, at the lake..." The words floated through the fawns mind as his large amber eyes blinked open, the sunlight making it to difficult for him to remain asleep. Shaking his head, Sen rose awkwardly to his hooves, stumbling as his long legs tangled for a moment.
"The lake..." He shook his head, eyes flickering to the constant stream of water emitting from the fountain he was sheltering behind. He snorted. How did this dream deer expect him to find anything in this twisted forest. He stomped a hoof angrily. Night had passed since he awoke in the forest, without a memory of his few weeks of life before hand. However, despite his trying to not sleep or to ignore the dreams, they still came to him in full swing. And although he tried to deny it, he couldn't prevent his curiosity of why it kept coming to him.
"Stupid." stretching, the fawn slunk to edge of the water, ears pricked for the sound of anything suspicious, listening to the calming words the wind spoke to him. He smiled, and lowered his head to drink, taking large mouthfuls of the sweet liquid. He peered at his reflection, his simple brown pelt and tan, almost whitish face. Dirt was smeared across his cheek, and as he raised his head to look at his whole self, he realized how dingy his coat had become.
"I need a bath.." He mumbled to himself taking a few steps towards the right, unsure where the lake he had been to earlier was. Suddenly, the wind picked up, and pushed the fawn the opossite direction, as if telling him the way to go. Peering around cautiously, Sen quietly said a thanks, aimed nowhere in particular, and began to trot the only way he knew, forward.

OOC: Sorry, trying to multitask getting school stuff in order ^-^'

(roleplay can happen onsite, through a messenger service (most people on this forum use MSN), or pretty much whatever way you and the people playing are comfortable with. Roleplay blogs like these are common. Often times people will roleplay scenes while stuff is happening in-forest as well.)

Eraline had come upon the unfamiliar fawn mostly by accident; it had been another day for wandering, her heart heavy with an unexplainable anxiety. She felt a change in the forest, something she could not explain, an impending darkness and so had taken to praying relentlessly at each shifting of the hour. She had stopped after glimpsing his form, and then become totally still when his scent hit her nose. Though she could not say that she was totally familiar with every inhabitant of the strange forest she had come to call her home, she had at least become accustomed to the way the air smelled of them all. A new presence threw it off, renewed it while at the same time made her guarded. She was beginning to learn that evil could come upon them at any time; new life made that possible.

So she'd stopped behind a tree, watched the fawn cautiously at a distance, could hear him, vaguely, talking to himself but could not make out the words. She continues to watch now while he struggles against the breeze, and gives up her cover behind the trunk to step forward just a tiny bit cautiously. "Fawn," she calls to his retreating form, though it sounds strange coming out of her own young fawn voice, "who are you? Where do you come from?"

The green fawn takes a couple more careful steps forward, head tilting ever so slightly to the left. "I have never seen you before and you seem to be...talking to yourself."

OOC: Ah thanks, I should invest in MSN..so many people I know use it.

Sen jumped at the voice, spinning around rapidly his tail raised and his ears at full alert.Noticing the other was also young, he felt his limbs relaxing from there tense state. He opened his mouth, as if to speak but instead took a few tentative steps forward, sniffing the scent that she carried. Nothing. He let out a small snort, and took a step back, eyes flickering nervously to the left and right, making sure he had an easy flat run to escape if necessary. Finally, he began speaking.
"My..n-name..well..I..I was called...S-Sen." He stuttered nervously, his ears flickering.
Who is she? Why is she alone also? The thoughts ran through Sen's mind before he pondered her other questions.
Come from...he wished he knew. His ears lowered slightly and he felt his head droop. He shuffled his hooves, trying to think of something to say, any lie, but nothing came to mind. All he could remember was that song, is hauntingly beautiful melody crystal clear in his mind.
"I, I don't know..where I came from." He finally muttered quietly, taking another cautious step backwards.
"I wish I did.." He muttered even more quietly, mostly to himself. A gust of wind blew past gently, and the fawn raised his head, ears pricking a little.
"You're right.." He whispered, and finally looked at the other deer in the eyes. With a hint of new confidence, he tried a small smile.
"Who are you?"

There is nothing yet aside

There is nothing yet aside from his talking to himself that calls for uneasiness but she errs on the side of caution and remains still, at once totally attentive to every word coming out of his mouth. She lets the sound of his name wash over her, burns it into her memory, and while he shifts and stutters and fidgets, she is watching his face, trying to memorize the most important features of his face, intent on remembering it case she runs into him again after this moment.

Her face softens upon the end of his speech; thinks finally that this fawn is no more a threat to the forest than any other fawn, for there is something innocent in the amnesia that so many of them awaken to. Eraline thinks back to the first time she opened her eyes to find herself in the forest, unable to remember anything, except a vague feeling, a whisper, which she'd eventually deciphered as her name.

Indeed, his lack of self-knowledge is one thing she can sympathize with, and so her limbs relax, her eyes turn warm. "Sen is a nice name. I have never heard anything like it. I'm sorry if I...startled you. I just thought that maybe..."

She bites her tongue before she can continue mindlessly, unsure of where that train of thought is even going and not wanting to make baseless accusations. This feeling, this anxiety building up inside of her will have to be dealt with later, in privacy. Or perhaps with her father.

"My name is Eraline." she responds. "I suppose I would say that I was also...called that. I didn't choose it for myself, anyway."

She takes another step forward, meeting his confident gaze with her own. "I happened to see you in passing and I just wonder, is there anything I can help you with? I remember what it felt like when I first realized that I was...living."

It is the best way she can put it into words. That had been the feeling, at any rate, though thinking on it too much makes her head hurt.

"Unfortunately I can't promise you that I'll be able to help with everything. There is stuff much I'm learning myself."

OOC: I'm sorry for being so

OOC: I'm sorry for being so slow! TwT
I just moved into a new dorm and have had orientation, etc. So I havn't had a moment to sit down for long at the computer. It sucks. ANyway I'll try and post tomarrow!!!
