Situated beside the other doe, the grey inattentively looked ahead. Her skull mask lay beside her foreleg, having been removed upon settling, and she intermittently reassured herself of its closeness with the occasional bump of knee against its coarse surface. She was glad to have mended things with the Yokai, and that Rin seemed to be in brighter spirits these days. However, something troubled the grey’s mind. She had left much unsettled between them, such as her insolent conduct in regard to being considered sister. The side of her that was far more inclined toward selfishness begged her not to pursue the topic, and yet she couldn’t help but to try. She trusted the Yokai, in spite of everything, and she was not going to abandon such a rarity for her own pride.
“Rin,” she spoke suddenly, her face turning toward the long haired female. She said nothing yet, instead waiting for acknowledgement incase the doe had slipped off into a brief nap.
The Yokai had lazed next to Halla, her long hair covering most of her face, except, for her black eyes, like oil, staring into the distance. She had enough enemies to keep a lookout.
A small stir from the other snapped Rin from her quite hostile state, and her muscles relaxed as she could feel the soft tugs of sleep beckoning her to close her eyes.
"Yes?" she replied, lifting her head from the soft ground, swaying her hair away form her face.

Rolling her shoulders as the doe regarded her; she watched relaxation smooth out the Yokai’s muscles, her body precipitously tranquil where she lay. The grey seemed to do the same. "I wanted to talk to you about something," she mused vaguely, her voice a quiet drawl on the wind, seemingly blasé. "After our most recent... allegations," Hälla smirked, though not unkindly, it seemed to be more-so from humor. ”My faith’s a little more avowed in you. And it seems I severed some… s-sisterly,” she choked out the word. ”…kindship. I want to restate your bond with my family. You’re very dear to me.”
Shifting once again from her position, the Yokai raised her head, staring at the Spitfire with curiosity. Her words began to intrigue the witch, and she smirked back. It wasn't until Halla had finished speaking did things seem a little more serious.
"You are very important to me too, Halla. I want you to know that I respect you and your family," she purred.
sob she's so talkative idek.

Indeed, the atmosphere of the conversation began to sober a great deal. The grey straightened her posture, pulling her legs beneath her as she regarded her friend. She dipped her head at the comment. ”Likewise,” the dragon mother responded, her ears twitching in punctuation.
It took a moment before she spoke again, as though mustering the proper language on which to breech such a subject. It was always odd for her to express the vast expanses of her feelings, and it made verbalizing them all the more difficult. Regardless, she made her efforts. “My mate and I are expected four more little… additions to said family,” Halla continued faintly. “I’ve kept it quiet, as they’re in a rather vulnerable carrier, that being an egg. They’ll be here in a matter of days, unhatched, and I prefer it stay a silent matter—you never know who within this forest might have a flavor for eggs,” she scowled darkly, and her ears pinned back.
“Nonetheless. I’ve asked someone very dear to me to be their godmother, and whereas there would normally be a godfather, the spot has been vacated by my lack of male affiliations,” she laughed sharply.
“I wanted to ask if you would be their other godmother.”
It was with the mention of the 'new arrivals' that completely perked the Yokai's intrigue.
"Oh, Halla! That is wonderful news!" she replied, her lips widening into a smile, just enough to allow her fangs to show. It was strange, however, that the children would be birthed from eggs. Rin had not met Halla's mate, and to her understanding the species that the other doe resides in only gives birth to live young.
"But how? How is it that these little ones will be hatched from eggs?" she spoke.
But she remained silent therafter, leaving the question hovering in the air.
Halla's request was enough to leave the Yokai speechless. Godmother?
She thought, her eyes widening a little, maybe from fear, or utter surprise. Such a task would be hard for the witch, not because she couldn't handle children, but it was because of her rather evil demeanour. She did not want to influence her evil ways upon the children, and such a thought was enough to scare the doe.
But apart from all her worries, for the first time the Yokai can remember, she truly felt happy. Happy that she now had the privilege to be a part of Halla's family, and protect her young, and teach the best way possible. A loud purr escaped her mouth.
"Halla, it would be a privilege," she cooed, resting her head on the others shoulder, her hair covering what seemed to be a full smile.
The tiny bundle of fur had never seen someone die before and it was truly a numbing sight. A small pink tongue left his wolfish maw to lick her cheek, a whimper falling past his lips. He crouched low to the soil and pawed weakly at her as he tried to wake her. So much blood... she was so cold. Big fat tears rolled down his cheeks as he crawled closer and curled up in the crook of her neck, tucking his little body under her chin. "Rin-ma.... Rin-ma..."
He looms over top the fallen demon, thick saliva dripping from a bloodstained maw. Chipped teeth flash as the boar spits words of hatred past split lips. He cares not if she can hear him. "You've sealed the fate of your entire wretched, fucking family. You will not have a single FUCKING day of peace so long as you walk this hellhole."
A rattling snarl follows, cut off by a guttural rumble and the sound of a mouthful of spit connecting with the yokai's battered form. "I know witches like you come back," he rasps. They always did. "So if I were you, bitch, I'd start digging graves for the sorry handful of bastards that have been stupid enough to stand by your side."

You're super welcome, I actually had a ton of fun drawing her. It gave me a great chance to use the blending tool (haven't used it in like two years) and I was surprised by the way the coloring turned out. It gave Rin a kind of smooth look!
