please keep in mind that, for the time being, this is more of a rough draft for myself. I'm just trying to keep track of character development for Waxwing so that this can eventually become his full bio. for now, I'll just be throwing everything to do with him in here. feel free to interact with him and help me decide how this little big boy will grow. c:

Like most young stags, Waxwing spent much time alone, learning to survive. He was birthed into a herd, made up of by father, his mother, and two other does. It was natural for a stag to have several mates, yet Waxwing found it unsettling. He kept his distance from his father - a large, proud stag with little emotion or attachment to the families he had help create - and the other does, clinging to his mother. It was dawn when his father woke him, standing tall and proud over his sleeping son. Waxwing was instructed to leave, and he did so with little protest. His mother had heard him shuffling about, and awoke, instantly understanding the situation. She had seen two of her sons walk about before Waxwing, and yet it hurt just the same.

He spent 8 months beside his mother, learning and growing. In all that time and with all that teaching he never understood how much harder it would be on his own. Still small, and only sporting large stubs for antlers, he kept to himself, avoiding most deer he came in contact with - especially large stags, knowing that he was much too young and weak to put up a fight. Within the first few weeks of roaming the forest alone, he came upon the Ruin. He felt a certain attraction to its old grave-like structures, and made his nomadic home there. He would spend his nights at the base of a tree, only a few feet from the ruins he had grown so close to. Deer would pass through often, but he would stay silent and still, giving them their own space.

He did this for months, sleeping by the ruins at night, and exploring the forest during the daylight hours. During this time, he grew. Now a yearling, he was much larger and stronger than he had been before. Toned muscles, a powerful, dark face, and large antlers had developed, and many colourful feathers had sprouted from him. He carried himself with grace and a certain calmness emanated from the young stag.

By this time, he had learned to enjoy his solitary lifestyle. He had developed a certain fondness for the Crying Idol, and spent most of his days nestled in the poppies at its base, listening to the quiet rush of it's tears. However, at nightfall, he would always find his way back to the Ruins.

tracking!

Waxwings are one of my favorite birds. I think it would be cool if he mirrored a waxwing with his colors.

mhmm, they're so beautiful! I would love to have his colours reminiscent of the birds, but I'm not sure what I would use.. golden butterfly pelt/real deer mask/magpie anters? something like that? I'll have to play around with it once he's full grown. );

Love this concept! Waxwings

Love this concept! Waxwings always remind me of little bandits. c:
I'm not sure of the names; but there are two similar striped pelts. One orange with dark stripes and one brown with gold stripes. Those might work?
