Concerning... -Subzero Dreamer -Submission -Care, and Block |
Just a catch for thoughts that might have merit. Track, comments, or not, I don't mind. More like something for me, rather than anything else. I don't foresee this having any explicit content. That doesn't mean it isn't 'mature'. Small text is on purpose. Meant to be read only by those who really want to. -Subzero Dreamer [12/2/12] ...and on clear, blizzardless days, we'll leave our igloo to drag precious sticks through the high snow, drawing silly things and works of art alike, careful to use our boot prints in just the right way. Accent marks, shading of sorts. Splatters. We'll draw and draw until the snow begins to fall again, and retreat back to our refuge before it grows too rough. Antarctica has a tendency for that, but you might not know what to do about it. It hasn't snowed like that in your motherland for thirty some years. Fish caught and preserved days before will be our meals, unless our igloo is situated on the edge of the ice. I would advise against it, fearing for our safety and the leopard seals that writhe beneath. Even our branches would be no match against them. That thought would worm its way into my head, if we built there, and I would lay awake all night fearing the sets of waterborn teeth below, or the long, white snouts of bears from above. Both would find fun in beating our home apart. Just snow, just ice... I can practically see a black-padded paw, hitting the shelter, sending white glittering pieces across the landscape. It's that same paw that seems to beat me around the head, and wake me from my stupor. Send my thoughts scattering like those sparkling pieces of ice. A day dream gone too far. -Submission [11/30/12] "I never bow," she said. The woman with posture like a matriarch and eyes of reason watched her, studied her knelt posture, the way her head hung heavy- dripping hair the cause. The weight of this head pressed against her calf, and even as the greedy moisture soaked through to touch her skin, the vulture woman's fingers lowered to rest without hesitation over the girl's crown. "Of course not," she affirmed gently, no trace of lurking double meaning to her tone. "Not to myself, nor anyone else." The girl's tense frame slowly laxed. Though the woman's hand she had collapsed beneath had begun to stroke through the knotted strands, there was a clear sense of who was the true domineer. As hours passed, the sentinel combed her master's hair until soft. The one on the throne is not always the one in power. A chair is just for show. Likewise, something smaller and weaker doesn't always need to be subordinate. -Care, and Block. [11/29/12] 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5...6666666- Mental overload. A frequent occurrence, something difficult to handle, harder still when on the inside of the assault. A helpful gadget: The ability to turn off your mind. Several of my characters play with the idea of mental overload, over stress, and its personality effects. Each deal with it in a different way. Dota, through utter silence and distraction. The bad thoughts rise, and are killed on sight. Sniped. Think about some fluffy pollinator, and why it is called 'bee'. What origin could that name derive from? Perhaps something eastern. It could easily be spelled 'bi' or 'bhi'. Is there a longer word for this creature? That is such a short word. But wait, are they even present in the east? Have I ever seen one associated with Chinese, Korean, or Japanese culture? Have I ever seen art including bees that was specifically from the orient? Perhaps it is something to look into...but I haven't the means. Oh, look. A slime toad. It's mouth, why does it truly need to... It's a defense mechanism. A power plug. Or better- a neat little switch. Something bad happens? Just flip the switch. Life is short. Shorter, when you think your way into the grave. So much better, when you can keep a clear mind. Right? There is a head to every tail, even if it isn't always obvious. Can you actually enjoy life focusing on what precisely a 'thorax' is, and ignoring health, social, and environmental problems? Could blocking out every unpleasant thought lead you through to a satisfactory end? She seems to think so. 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3... |
