^ No really. I've seen so many 3+ meter "deer" wandering around. @_@ Not only is it just, like, unrealistic to the point of breaking my immersion in the game (How would something that big get enough to eat in such a limited space? And other questions.), but it's honestly... Quite silly.
For instance, seeing as these giants (I mean, come on, bigger than an Irish Elk? I'm not even sure the Forest could support a handful of those along with the rest of its population, let alone as many as there really are on site. And don't even get me started about the carnivorous ones.) are typically the macho-duke-it-out-type, they really drive up the competition. If I were to make a deer who would fight, I would feel the need to make them a gargantuan--not because I think it's realistic, or even honestly appealing, but because to stand any chance in this forest as a fighter, a character needs to be the size of an Irish Elk or larger, or have an extraordinary arsenal of some other specialized form of attack, just by virtue of how many massive characters there are. I believe a champion wild buck of virtually any species would be squashed in hours were he to be teleported here, during the rut or otherwise, just because of the sheer size and ridiculous power of some of the characters that have been introduced. The competition is just too huge to be feasible, and it really upsets me.
Obviously, bringing realism to this game is kind of silly too, but honestly it's hard to suspend all of my disbelief in terms of the giants I've seen roaming about. They're just too big, and I can't see a good enough reason as to why that makes sense, or makes an interesting character. It disappoints me, all of it. ):
