Now entering the night-world.

*.*.***.*.***.*.***.*.*.*.*.*....************************

You enter the night-world, a darkened version of the forest, so black you can hardly see. That is, except a little glowing pictogram nearby. The name, as you get close enough to read it, spells out as Unduetu.

As you draw closer, you see the pictogram illuminates a huddled rusty-coated form on the ground. About the size of a Chevrotain, the form is curled in on itself. Rusty fur covers its body, little nubs for horns are apparent on its head, but don't look harmful in any way. On the other hand, as the little being yawns, a pair of long and sharp canines appear.

You hear a rustling.

Tiny, dainty wings unfurl from the being's back, seemingly straight out of the top of the shoulder blades. They flutter once, then the little claws atop the wing stretch. The small beast uses these to pull herself to her feet. Those feet, supported on spindly legs, seem too tiny to hold up the little form. It reminds you of a bat... a little Golden-Mantled Flying Fox.

Unduetu glowers at you from a pair of oversized eyes. Her body stiffens, fangs being revealed. She doesn't seem to want to attack, but seems more fearful than anything. After all, you are bigger than her.

...scared. I am here! I am here! Don't step on me!

She squeaks, flapping her small wings vehemently and stomping her tiny forefeet quickly as a warning. It seems as if she doesn't quite realize you see her.

Name: Unduetu, or Pictogram source 1DUe2

Species: Cross between a Golden-Mantled Flying Fox and a Chevrotain.

Height, Weight, Dimensions: 8 inches tall by 15 inches long, about 2 lbs, Wing span of two feet (1 foot per wing) Size#4

Chevrotain Characteristics: Same body, very small and with spindly legs. Legs can be broken easily, so be careful with her please! Has mostly the same reactions to things and same behaviors as these deer. Can swim. Very fast runner

Flying Fox Characteristics: Same wingspan, same wings, same fur-texture and patterns. Often uses Echolocation, but sees just fine in the dark. Cannot see well in daylight. Has similar scenting abilities.

Other Characteristics: Can read pictograms perfectly fine, so she DOES know your name even though you have not told her yet. Has a cherub-like face with disproportionately large eyes.(Human face.) Her voice is high, and often chirps when afraid. Relatively good flyer, similar flight-ability as a bee, but flight movement like a bat. She will not often fly, only if she is trying to get away from something on the ground or catch a meal airbourne. Has small nubs for horns, very much like the blue nubs on Peacock antlers. These aren't good for fighting, but do bruise if she hits you with them. Has a Napoleon Complex, though only shows it when she is upset at someone for hurting a friend. Very content with being small, though.

The doe leaps back, squealing

The doe leaps back, squealing a little in surprise as the tiny creature squeaks up at her: '...scared. I am here! I am here! Don't step on me!' Ida bends, sniffing at the bat-like ungulate. "I know very well you are here." A soft chuckle. Noting the fangs in the creature's mouth, she dips her muzzle. "You're not going to bite me, are you, little one?" she inquires, tilting her head ever so slightly, all the while still sniffing her.

Raindrops:

Bite her? Unduetu shook her small head. Ohnono. Just... most don't note someone so tiny. I tend to get stepped on an awf'l lot wit' everyone bigger 'n me, ya know. She explained, shaking herself to smooth the ruffles in her fur. Ida Rose is a pretty name, ya know. Sounds delicate, like petals. The little bat-doe spoke, peering up at the greater's pictogram. It was as clear as day what it said to her. How she could translate it seemed a little odd, since she was clearly not of the forest. A little smile, as thin as lace, spread over her cheeks.

"Well, then, that's a

"Well, then, that's a relief." The antlered doe chuckled softly, lifting her head. "Being small isn't such a bad thing," she said, raising her head briefly to survey her surroundings: what she could see, of course. Which was very little, given the darkness surrounding her. She lowered her head again.
Ida seemed a little surprised. How did the creature know her name? Shaking her head, she smiled slightly at her. "And what would your name be, little one?" the female asked, head tilting slightly to the side.

Oh! You do not read....

Oh! You do not read.... uhm.... I'm Unduetu... Atleast that is what I read when I look in the water at that little light up there. The doe pointed her little wing-claw up at her pictogram. She peered around at the darkness, little hooves shuffling for a better view. Where are we, Ida Rose? oh.. mmm... do you happen to know where we are and why I can see? Normally, I can't see so well. I have to use little-squeaks to get around normal. She tried to explain, rambling slightly after the question. The small doe's wings rustled slightly as she tucked them in, as quietly as silk-on-silk.

"Well, it's lovely to meet you, Unduetu." She nosed the smaller gently before glancing up at the creature's halo of light. She'd never been able to read those. Then she sighed. "Some kind of forest ... It's similar to the, uh ... other one." Returning to her full height, she staggered a little in the darkness. "I've got no idea how you can see, though. I can't even see my own nose in front of my face!" A chuckle. Ida looked the small, bat-like creature over. Interesting...

-I posted on your bio. Undu

-I posted on your bio. Undu was looking for someone to hide beneath, considering she is new and small.-

The doe tilted her head, question-like. You can't see? Then I help you get out. Dunno how... just know I know where the exit is. I fell asleep, then I was here. The tiny creature walked toward a shadow darker than the pitch-blackness of the night-place. She then stopped stock-still and turned back to face Ida. But you can't really see? Follow my light? The little being spun back to the place she was headed, hopping so that the little light clearly bounced. She then continued forward. It wasn't that far off.

Ah, okay. Well, she's welcome

Ah, okay. Well, she's welcome to hide under it anytime -- it won't bite. Though that may be a little hard to believe. /pokes its teeth

She shook her head, then smiled. "That's awful kind of ya," she said softly. The doe crouched, keeping her hazel eyes focused intently on the bouncing source of light, chuckling gently as she padded behind the little creature. "You're sure you know how we can get out of here?" The doe was whispering, though there was obviously no need to. "I don't really fancy being stuck in a place where I can't SEE!" She yelped the last word, tumbling into a ditch ungracefully, coughing slightly. Trying to ignore what just happened, the flustered doe scrambled out of the pit, huffing a little in the darkness.

Oh! Careful... ohmy.... it's

Oh! Careful... ohmy.... it's right over here... um ohmy.... um.... Oh! I can fix it! the little beast made a little noise as she took off. The flight was smooth and easy out, but upon her return she seemed to be struggling. The doe dropped something before landing herself with disgruntled panting.

Her pictogram lit up a coil of vine on the ground. You get one end, I get the other. I don't think it will be so hard to walk that way. The small beast grabbed the small end of the vine, smiling. She waited until Ida grabbed the other, then began her little bouncing walk again.

The spot grew bigger, and soon they were there. The issue was how to go about getting in to it.
