Despite appearing to be a dumb beast driven by hunger, Abaddon is a rather intelligent creature that is capable of strategizing as well as human speech. Although his size is massive, Abaddon is capable of sprinting for reasonable distances when pursuing prey. However, he will not do so unless he has targeted the prey that he desires; he makes sure to reserve his energy until such a time comes.

Depending on how long it takes Abaddon to run down his prey, he may become slower due to exhaustion. However, with adrenaline his strength does not slip, although his reaction times may be off. The core of the beastie's strategy focuses on the weak points of his prey: mainly, the neck and the belly. Like a lion he will attempt to sever the neck, although he does not suffocate his prey, and like a crocodile he will maul at the underside. Because he may be taller then some deer, especially minis, he will attempt to "knock down" his smaller prey first before striking these weak points.

If the target is taller than Abaddon, then he will rear up in order to carry out his attacks, especially for the neck. In any instance, the goal is to have the prey bleed out and be weakened 'til it can no longer run or fight back. As for the barbs on his front feet, he tends to reserve the subduing poisons for larger and more feisty prey. Once the target has stopped struggling, he will proceed to devour his "favorite" organs, and then swallow his prey whole provided that it is dead.

Although his body is covered with a fine layer of scales, they aren't terribly hard and are very flexible. Abaddon is most vulnerable around his underside, the point where the neck connects to the chest and the inside of his legs. He is certainly susceptible to stabs and bites, provided that they are dealt with enough forced as his hide is characteristically tough and thick.
