Spent maybe... 30 minutes walking the forest before a Umay was near. Thought first to say and do nothing, but stuff he'd been informed of in recent months tugged him over. Tried small talk although he had no interest in it, somewhat glad to have Umay get to the point of anything.

Found the answers he sought in the short chat that followed, through what Gabriel took to be a lot of unnecessary hostility that reflected the same behavior claimed of others. Without showing it, tried to find any amount of surprise or disappointment. What little disappointment came was from finding he'd had his expectations met and he no longer desired to 'fix' a situation like this; and in quick retrospect realized he wasn't very good at that anyway.

Realized, as he approached Quay, he'd (Gabriel) changed more in the last year. Where he believed this sort of thing would have left him a sad, confused mess longing to pick up the pieces; now nonchalant, even a bit angry at what he felt was a great deal of hypocrisy.

Met his son with what he hoped would be a funny, if not wildly inappropriate comment to make about his recent exchange. Glad they shared sentiments on the matter. Concluded a number of things to himself and, realizing to a degree who his sister reminded him of, found to 'let it go' would be in the best interests of them both. As steadfast as he is in his decision to 'unofficially'?? cut ties, knows he'll likely feel some degree of remorse for it later. Readied to stomp out his small woes for the sake of the bigger picture.

Remained alert for a while beside Quay, expecting someone to come crashing into him for earlier. When after a while no such thing happened, managed to settle beside his son for some peace.
