As her nickname suggests Nawfar can be quite the little firebrand. Passionate about those she cares about and any cause she deems worthy of her attention.
Being part koi she is omnivorous and will even going out of her way to attack any small game that comes across her path such as frogs, squirrels, and most small birds.
Struggles to keep control around large amounts of blood or prey items. Pupils become slits during this time. As well as the child becoming very possessive of the 'food' or blood spot. Willing to lash out at anyone that comes to close. Avoids going up to others while like this.
Practices gentle parental actions done on her with other children. Believe that to be nice even if it's confusing for both parties.
Lost the ability to express sadness without forcing it upon her face thanks to Marella. Can still very much feel it but her face will appear blank giving the impression of her being uncaring.
Race
Nawfar is part of a race of koi-deer that exist within another world. This breed is mostly made up of females of different mixes of animals in the ungulate family. Known to the outside world as siren's/mermaid's of the pond, they hold a ceremony each year where the most attractive female is selected to travel through the portal to seek out and seduce males with their beautiful calls. Songs are influenced by one emotion and only that one. Once an emotion is chosen that female can only express it through song.!XXXX!
Once a male comes close to the water's end they are dragged into the watery depths and drowned. The female then harvests what she can from him to ensure her race persists.
Pregnancy lasts about twenty months. Babies will inherit two of their mother's tone or if she is two-toned the child is more likely to keep it's mothers colors or gain one color from its grandmother's genes. One tone is very rare and unlikely to happen unless they have albinism or melanism. Of course, they will gain all of her instincts. As for their poor father, they'll only get half his breed's appearance and fur color. A female generally can have one to four babies at a time depending on whom they 'mated' with. After babies are born the mother stays with them for about three to four days before leaving them to return to her own world. Baby fur that starts to shed after 2 weeks to reveal her true scales after they fully develop. Shedding temporary halts until the growth of fins.
Scales is their main defense against predators as they are hard as a rock and can shatter almost any teeth. The breeder babies will fight among themselves to establish ranking order before the growth of fins and see who will gain the right to claim this area once they are older. Having a claimed area is very important for authority and the chance to be chosen during the next gathering. Family, however, is still of great significance. The more a family claims land the more likely they are to be chosen. Wars over territory aren't uncommon. Based closely on koi most females share the same types of fins and tail fins. However, personality also shapes their appearance.
Breeders will bare long pretty tails and fins. They also have dainty bodies which makes them feeble when it comes to attacks, but being the quickest they use pure speed within both water and land and their amazing leaping ability to overcome foes. Older females in this group can use water magic to defend themselves. They pretty themselves up frequently with seashells, seaweed, shiny objects, and flowers to show off among peaceful groupings of rivals breeders and their own group since they strive to be the prettiest of all to be noticed around ceremony time.
A breeder is declared ugly when she receives too many clear cuts and bruises. She'll be seen as worthless at this point and abandoned. They normally die from starvation or rival soldiers and mixers when alone. Soldiers from her old group will chase her off if she tries to return.
Soldiers who are more ready for combat grow smaller fins. They are the biggest of the three types of koi deer and pack on muscle. They are capable of growing antlers according to the male the mother mated with. Being the only type of koi unable to reproduce they give most of their time guarding the breeders of their own family groups and raiding territories to help branch out their domain further making them very important for a groups survival. Soldiers are commonly praised by breeders and mixers alike for their fierce defense of territory with grooming and gifts.
Being battle ready comes with a price since in exchange for fighting prowess most of her speed is forsaken. Swimming ability is also the worse out of the three which makes chasing down rival mixers and breeders hard for them both on land and water. They must rely on their own mixers to slow targets down before these powerful does can do any heavy hitting.
Mixers -
Based closely on koi most females share the same types of fins and tail fins. However, personality also shapes their appearance. Female's that care only for looks will bare long pretty tails and fins, while females more ready to fight grow smaller ones. Mutations are uncommon and seen as mistakes by some or signs from a higher being by others. Some mutations are albinism, melanism, dwarfism, Gin Rin, and more.
