-Steini will be participating in the Rut as a wildcard. She isn't yet large enough to take on more experienced challengers, and certainly doesn't want to get herself hurt; however, she's drawn to the concept of it, and is up for friendly sparring, whether it be to help others practice or just for fun.
-She's seeking both to meet new people and to learn how to hone her own skills. As such, she'll likely be drawn to fights, and, as previously mentioned, will be eager to practice with others. Though she may watch fights, she'll make no attempt to interfere in them. The most she might do is cheer on anyone she knows. With that being said, she won't be against spontaneous sparring.
-She might be drawn to the herding aspect of the Rut in the sense that she doesn't mind large groups, particularly if she feels comfortable with the individuals they comprise. With that being said, she's unlikely to take kindly to herding behavior (that is, those trying to physically herd her to a certain place) unless it's someone she's familiar with--and even then. In any case, she'll likely just attempt to detach herself and move off.
-At this time, she has no interest in finding a mate or having children. She's still rather young, and is more concerned with keeping her friends and family safe and happy.
-Overall, she views this as a relatively danger-free opportunity to grow more experienced.

Caught up in the commotion of the Rut. Met up with Jude and a few of his companions, including a unicorn (Wuut). Basically dragged Jude around to see all of the sparring, while trying to find someone to spar with. Took care to ensure that Jude wasn't overly close to any fights, however.
Ran over to say hello to Fletcher and Liathe before diving back into the action. Had a sparring match with Jonah. Quite excited and overall proud of herself; relieved to see that Fletcher and Lia didn't seem to have reservations about her participation. Reassured Jude when it seemed that her friend was a bit shaken. It's okay I'm an adult now kinda
Decided to relax for a bit, having been tired out by the match. Followed Fletcher and Lia when they joined Izumi by the Ruins. Resting for the time being, but is still keeping an eye on fights and potential sparring partners.

Species:Hybird. ☉A mix of TEF deer and raptor, more specifically Dakotaraptor. Possesses a build recognizable enough to pass as cervine, but with vastly atypical, raptor-esque qualities.

Scent: Freshly cut grass and earth. Carries an occasional faint tinge of blood. May carry the scents of those around her.

Diet: Fully carnivorous.

Body

Despite bearing the relative physicality of a cervid, the hatchling is almost nothing but. Nearly everything about her, from her downy feathers to her sharp eyes, speak of a creature who has merely assumed the guise of a herbivore. Indeed, her teeth are small and serrated, made for gripping and tearing flesh rather than leaves. She possesses two sickle claws in addition to hooves; as she grows, they will be strong enough to gauge deep wounds. At the moment, however, they can do little more than sting.
She lives exclusively off of the basest creatures of the forest, such as squirrels and birds. Her powerful hind legs, which allow her to leap considerable distances, aid her in her hunts. In addition, her multi-colored hide allows to her effectively blend in with the foliage, particularly in places such as the Old Forest. With that being said, she is currently small and relatively harmless, posing a danger only to small wildlife. Due to this, she mainly relies on camouflage and the presence of large groups to protect herself.
The hatchling's hide is mostly white, black, and brown, made to resemble the surrounding foliage. Most of her face is white, save the bottom of her jaw and the area around her eyes, which are black. A small portion at the tip of her lip remains white. Her ears are white with a black border, with about half of their middle sections being brown. She possesses a small feather crest which will grow in time. The majority of her feathers are brown, although a few are black and fewer white.
The entirely of the hatchling's neck is covered in a mass of feathers that end around her shoulders. These share a similar color scheme to her crest. Most of her body is brown, with several black and white spots. Her underside is white, with a black border separating it from the top. A solid black stripe runs from her neck to a bit past her headquarters. The underside of her tail is white, with a addition of a few brown stripes. The very tip of her tail is black; her tail, too, is covered with feathers.

Misc.
-Has central heterochromia; the exterior of her iris is golden, while the interior is red.
-Has a few feathers on the back of her legs, although they're a bit more downy.

Combat

WIP

-Despite her excessive wariness, she generally will not resort to combat unless it's the only choice afforded her. Defaults on hissing and fluffing up her feathers in order to ward potential aggressors off. May occasionally "bluff charge" others. Because her actual combat experience has been somewhat minimal, she relies on a combination of instinct and advice from others when engaging in a fight.

-She is made to strike quickly and deeply. Her main weapons are her serrated teeth and deceptively large claws, both of which are capable of leaving deep wounds. Prefers hit and run tactics against those around her size; generally swoops in and attempts to either nip at or claw at them, before darting out of range. Those smaller than her, such as prey animals, are generally subject to a blitzkrieg of sorts wherein she quickly tackles him and attempts to stifle them.

-While she generally chooses to flee from rather than engage larger creatures, her powerful hind legs allow her to leap large distances, making it feasible to think that she is capable of launching herself onto another's back and ripping at their flesh. Due to her small size, she is also able to dart beneath another and swipe at their stomach and knees. With that being said, it is highly unlikely that she will attempt to fight a larger creature unless she has absolutely no other choice.

-With that being said, she is not built to take many hits. A powerful and well-placed bow can easily stun her. Furthermore, she is used to quickly catching and subduing prey, and is not well-versed in combat against larger creatures yet. It is instinct, rather than expertise, that drives her.

More as she gets older...

Knew there was something odd

Knew there was something odd about this one when we encountered her! I didn't check the map until well after, so I didn't know in advance she was a little carnivore hybrid - but the way you play her made it so clear that we kind of knew anyway?? Anyway, tracking this bc she's a pleasure to encounter. <3 ~~S76 is just a grumpy old man who doesn't know what's going on~~.
