Recently: Yesterday, returned home in less than fantastic condition but couldn't bear to be away from his home and family any longer. Feeling a smidge guilty over how alarmed Faas in particular looked over his current physical state.. POTENTIAL RP ONGOING we'll find out........

Earlier: Decided to pay a visit to the forest today - not sure of the reason, but felt a particular pull and a gut feeling that today was the day to be here. Feeling generally uncomfortable on account of the atmosphere alone; rain or shine, felt like an alien here in spite of having been born and raised in the Endless, feeling constantly and persistently unwanted by the very energy. Still, lingered in the birch for some time, and found some comfort in a familiar face when wandering around behind the Oak.

Exchanged some tentative sniffs with Umay at first but then greeted her with some nuzzles and a light embrace. Stood with the demoness for a short while until Fletcher's bugling in particular caught his attention. Listened in briefly but before he'd have time to go investigate, would catch sight of the chaos as Fletcher and Grimkell came barreling by in pursuit of a brightly coloured inidividual (Saul) who in turn was chasing a clearly, heavily pregnant Liathe.

Felt the thorns tighten around his heart at the sight of her and for a moment, froze up. Had every intention of going to aid them and would, but found his feet cemented firmly into the ground and his heart turning over wildly in his chest at first. Flipped the heartache around into fuel for the fire and tore after Saul with murderous intent when he found his legs again, pursued him viciously along with a large group of others for a good long while. Fought through the wind and rain with comrades who held the same goal in mind - sustained a number of injuries between the flying tines, teeth, claws, and bodies that clashed and crashed in the madness from both friend and foe alike. Driven on by adrenaline, outrage, and long-rooted anguish centered around the doe who'd become the target of this attack until they finally brought down the beast not far from the tree he'd once called home.

Once things slowed to a stop, realized that the creature had managed to clamp around the throat of another stag - Ioten, the likes of whom he'd never seen before - and was slowly suffocating him. Barely had time to receive a show of gratitude from Fletcher that he took numbly before flying into a panic and trying to pry the now deceased beast's jaws from the stag's neck. Vaguely aware of Umay, Quay, and Grimkell nearby, the latter of whom approached to help him in his efforts. Eventually the efforts of both managed to tear both sets of jaws from Ioten who then started to bleed out more rapidly. Managed to seal the stag's bleeding wounds while Grim and Quay moved off, Umay remaining - stubbornly tried to feed Ioten some of his own blood in an attempt to bring him back from the brink of death, too stubborn to give up on him and too panicked to admit that it was too late.

Projecting the countless failures and mistakes he'd made onto this stranger in more ways than one, determined to try and stabilize him and do something right for once. When it seemed like the stranger was no longer on death's door, let out an exasperated sob and curled up with him, sheltering him from the rain with a wing. Was determined to stay with him until he woke from the coma-like state that he'd fallen into, but was soon approached by Umay.

"Kael, you don't know who or what this creature is."

"P-please just let me have this,"

"Why?"

"For the ones I couldn't save."

"This beast who you are trying to save slaughtered a young boy's mother and father in cold blood. It was no more than a season ago. The child wanders this hell alone and orphaned because of him." - "You do not know the strangers you are trying to save. They are not all good people. His state is probably granting the boy another day to breathe."

Took the news like a pile of bricks to the chest and immediately felt something - couldn't quite place it, knew it wasn't regret but something akin to it or lingering on its doorstep. Couldn't bring himself to condemn someone who'd gone out of their way to aid people important to him when the time called for it but also wondered deep down if there was some form of poetic justice in what had happened to Ioten. Dubiously considered whether or not he'd interfered with an intended fate and if it had been wrong of him, but also couldn't regret stepping in to try and save a person who was trying to do something genuinely good. Found little comfort in his godmother's reassurance that 'right' and 'wrong' weren't so black and white when she said she knew he'd had the best intentions in mind when aiding this stranger but there was a lingering bad taste in his mouth over the situation and, after stating he felt confident that Ioten would be alright now, solemnly made his way off.

With the danger passed, had everything hit him all at once, both corporeal through new injuries and intangible where emotions weaved and tangled themselves up in his mind. Couldn't bring himself to go see Fletcher and Liathe still but neither could he rightfully go home in his current physical state. Eventually curled up against a try just shy of the edge of the pond, basking in new regrets and old alike and praying that even a bit of good had come out of this.
