North America. South America. Europe. Africa. Asia. Australia. 6 of the world's continents. Moose, from North America, Huemul , from South America, Roe Deer, from Europe, Red Deer, from Asia, and small little Dik-Dik, from Africa. All in a herd. Although, they were missing one deer, a deer from Antarctica, but since there was no such thing, Teradeer had filled the spot in.
And now, the herd was traveling the world, searching for an unknown purpose. They were now in a forest somewhere in America. Roe deer and Huemul looked up at the tall trees that pierced the sky. "Stop looking at scenery and get moving! We have a lot of ground to travel, and we're not going to get any farther by staring at tress!" Moose snapped. Roe Deer jumped and trotted quickly, startled by Moose's snap, and Huemel just shook his head and said, "Sorry, Moose.".
As the herd got moving again, Teradeer went up to Roe Deer and Huemel. "So, are tall trees what we have been looking for?" He spat. Roe Deer didn't answer, afraid if he said something wrong he would get snapped at.
Huemul replied, "Sorry! Sorry! And no, they are not! We have found a lot of the things we were looking for, we found does we fell in love in, abandoned fawns that needed our help, a place where no hunter lived. And Moose said, 'No, we must find the thing we are looking for!'. He said that he would know if we found what we were looking for, and he said love is not it? I think Moose doesn't have a heart. I mean, he doesn't even let us go by our real names, except you! Now we have to go by our species' names. I find this very unfair."
Teradeer was silent, not sure what to say at the moment.
Meanwhile, Dik-Dik walked up to Moose. "Moose, we must rest. Red Deer's injury from the recent cougar attack hurts him every step. We have not slept for two days. We need rest now, Moose! Or else we will never find the thing we are looking for." He protested. "Stop your complaining. You're Dik-Dik, I'm Moose. You have puny little hooves, and I have big hooves. I can crush you easily, all you can do and scratch me. I won't lose a drop of blood from you. Why would a stronger deer take advice from a tiny creature like you?" Moose growled.
Dik-Dik was tired of all this shit. All his life he had been teased about size.
"Please... Moose... the pain... hurts..." Red Deer whined. Teradeer then said, "Yes, we need to rest. Please Moose, we won't find your precious 'purpose' if we don't rest." Moose growled and mumbled, then said, "Fine, fine, let's rest."
Dik-Dik almost wanted to scream. Moose wouldn't take his advice, but he would listen to Red Deer's and Teradeer's? Dik-Dik had always been a ticking bomb, about to go off when things like this happened. Luckily, he had slowly defused the bomb before it had gone off. Then Dik-Dik looked at his 'puny' hooves.
And soon, I'll show Moose how puny these hooves are.

The next day, after some sleep, Teradeer was the first to get up. Roe Deer started to stir, and Teradeer sensed something strange was going on. He asked Roe Deer, bu he just shook his head and tried to get back to sleep. Suddenly something jolted though the earth, making Roe Deer whip his head up, eyes wide, awake. "Roe Deer! Is it an earthquake?" Teradeer said, as he felt it too. The earth rumbled, but it was not an earthquake. They both saw a stampede, of the biggest deer around the world, Irish elk, Moose, and some whitetails, on the ledge above them. A wolf pack was chasing them.
Teradeer gasped when he saw they were about to run off the cliff, where thousands of rocks lied. They were going to run right into it!
Moose, Red Deer, and Huemul has just woken up from the rumbling. Teradeer had not noticed that Dik-Dik was not there. "Go! Get up! Run! RUN! STAMPEDE! AVALANCHE!" The rocks and deer fell, and the wolves slid to a stop. The herd ran out of the way, but then Teradeer heard Moose's screams. He whipped his head to see Moose being crushed by rocks, falling down the slope. Before Teradeer could do anything, a rock crashed into his side, and he began to fall down the slope too.
While Teradeer and Moose fell, Tera saw a small shape jump into the rocks and falling deer, and then jump out of the rocks and on him. Dik-Dik.
It all came to him- Dik-Dik has made the wolf pack chase the deer. He wanted to start the avalanche. He wanted to kill Moose!
Teradeer tried to kick him off, but Dik-Dik held on tight. He kicked and scratched him while they all fell.
Then the hugest rocks came crashing down, and suddenly everything was black, and the last thing Teradeer felt, was as if someone had ripped off his face.
---
After a few minutes Teradeer woke up, to see a dead body in front of him- Moose. his head flipped everywhere, looking for Dik-Dik. Then he heard calls from Huemul. "Tera! Tera! Moose! Moose!". He tried to answer but a sudden pain near his mouth forced him not to. Then he heard Roe Deer's voice. "They're dead! Gone forever! Moose and Teradeer are dead!"
No matter how much he tried to call them, he felt pain near his mouth. They soon left, believing that he had died. He tried to call them, so badly. But he felt blood gush out of his mouth. What had happened?
He then saw a bloody jaw lying between to rocks. He lifted to hoof to see if his jaw was still there, and he felt nothing but air. Dik-Dik... you killed Moose... and you broke my mouth!
He got up, and ran away, angry at what Dik-Dik had done.
---
Later Tera found a river. He looked at his reflection- him without a jawbone. Blood was everywhere.
"You... you're alive?" Teradeer whipped his head up to see Dik-Dik standing on the other side o f the river. He didn't say anything. "And you're probably wondering why I'm alive, hm? Well, I didn't just ask the wolf pack to chase the deer for me, I also told them to die for me while I fell, trying to kill Moose. Who knew dead wolves could be a great cushion to a fall?" Teradeer started to walk across the river. "I have proved to you I do not have puny hooves, why do you think you can beat me? You have learned I am dangerous, why fight me?"
A split second after he said those words, Teradeer charged into Dik-Dik, and he fell over, surprised. He then scooped up Dik-Dik with his antlers and threw him into the water. And, before he could try to swim up, Teradeer held Dik-Dik under the water, drowning him. Bubbles blew from the small deer's mouth. After a minute Teradeer dragged him out of the water. He was dead.
He scooped him up again, and threw him into the water, and watched the dead body float down the stream.
And he left the forest forever, and Red Deer, Roe Deer, and Huemul never saw him again.
