Part 1
I slept on the wet grass. My fur coat was getting wet and i was cold. I got up, and pranced around the meadow. No trees with mushrooms, I thought. I bounded off. Today would be the day, when i found a herd of deer. As i ran off through the long long long forest, i spotted 2 deer. There antlers were bigger then mine. They turned to me. I backed off a tiny bit. ''Who are you and why do you come here?'' a huge male deer asked. ''Im Grass Bandit, though i like being called Bandit.'' i replied. A male deer that was bigger then the other one glared down at me. ''I am Whipper and this is Tornado. We are not simple to get by, but we will let you pass, but only for this time.'' snorted Whipper. I bowed down in thanks. Then i padded past them. Then i heard a fawn and her mother calling. Couldn't go that way then. I listened on the next way. I heard a bunch of female deer coming from that way. Looks like i would have to go the long way then. No shortcuts? No respect? Who was ever gonna look out for me?
Part 2
''A waterfall!'' i called loudly. I drank and drank and drank. Satisfied, i carried on. Huge trees stood in my way. I troted siftly around them. Until i saw.........JUICY TREE MUSHROOMS! How delightful and juicy and sweet after eating lots of them. I carried on again. After an hour of running, something brown stood in my path.......................
What will happen to Grass Bandit now? Will he have to fight a bear? Or will he meet a defenseless fawn with no mother? Read on later for more!
Part 3 There in front of me
There in front of me stood a small, happy, motherless fawn. ''Hello little one. Where is your mother?'' i asked. The small fawn looked at me. Then she piped up and spoke to me. ''Silly. I have a mother, but she is leaving me. Im old enough to care for myself.'' she said. I looked at her. She was very small for a yearling. ''Oh well, i guess she's just a mini me.'' i thought. She then ran away. I trotted off on my search for a herd. The day passed. I had a bad feeling that tonight would be another night alone. Just when i was settling down to sleep, i heard a deer call. More came. I looked around myself. There they were. A herd of deer. They gathered around me. The male in lead sopke up. ''Come and join us, Grass Bandit. Were open.'' he told me. I was amazed. I didn't know this deer but he knew me. ''Yes, i'd be glad to join!'' i said happily. I got up. We all danced, ran and played games. The night was lovely. Now i had a giant family, my herd.
