mother?

The skinny hands of the barren trees reached out from above, trying to grab the fawn as it dashed away quickly. Tiny hooves hit the earth with tiny clips, almost not even making a sound. Cries escaped the little one, she did not slow down.

"Run, run and hide. I will find you again. Be safe."

The last things her mother screamed as a two-legged figure approached the doe and her fawn. A long stick in hand, the ones that go boom.

She ran as fast as her tiny hooves could carry her. A loud bang could be heard.
There, a bush. A hiding spot. The fawn dashed for it, unaware a hole under it.

down the hole.

Opening her eyes, all was quite.
All was . . . quite?

The young one kept quite for a long time, counting to as high as she could.
seven.

Looking out from under the bush she was under.
No mother, no two-legged figure.

Where was mother?
Mother?

Where was the fawn?

. . . all around her was a forest she had never seen before

Poor baby Jacklin.
I sort of failed at the background, so I did a very light screenshot to give some depth to the landscape better then what I attempted. weeeeeee.

It's quite creepy that a faint silhouette of a deer can be made out when it's almost a given that is, in fact, not Jacklin's mother.

You have a good eye, I wasn't

You have a good eye, I wasn't sure I wanted the silhouette there so I made it very faint.
But the question is, are they friend or foe?

But I'm sure Jacklin will be fine. c:

Thank you ^-^ I wasn't so

Thank you ^-^
I wasn't so sure little Jacklin would fit in with the background so well, seeing as she has 'lines' and the forest is 'line-less'.
