agreeing with raven. really neat how his markings are darker/more concentrated in some parts.
reminds me of things we would do in elementary school. there was this metallic colored paper with this black "lottery scratcher" like substance on top. we would scratch away some of the black stuff to show the metallic colored paper underneath. i forget its name, but thats the best way to describe it. /ramble
@din, I actually used to have one of those! It was fun. Unfortunately it was at a time where I was quite young and no good as an artist, but it was a delight to scratch around on it. I'll have to pick one up next time I go to the craft store and see what I can make.
^ exactly! same here. i think my parents still have a couple here saved somewhere, but echoing off of what you said i was maybe 7 at the most and just farted around with it (i remember it being so ugly, lmao). i didnt know they still made them! id love to have them again because the possibility to make gorgeous things with it are countless! plus the feeling of scratching off lottery tickets, to me, is so satisfying i think id just have a blast doing it haha
My stepdad uses clay and ink scratchboards all the time. We have a 24x36 inch one he did hanging up in the house. It's got all kinds of black and white animals on it.
He's an amazing artist and it took him 4 years and a ton of dental tools to finish. I'll have to post a photo of it someday. The only one he has is really crappy.
Agreed with everything said above, this is really dreamy and really detailed for a scratched piece! I love how insanely good the anatomy is for a work executed this way.
It's really refreshing to see amazing art like this, it's so unique.
