But anyway, the bat is there because how Mezz turned Ren into a bat when they met =)

Yes, Ren actually quite enjoyed flying around, though I think he wishes he could have seen the pond from that height, but he forgot.
And I do think it fits him as well, he couldn't really have had any other mask because that time someone cast it on him, and he loved the sound it made
