This is so gorgeous Apel <3 the way you paint backgrounds always makes me want to go there,it's believable, heck the whole thing is.And the little details of the doe herself and her accesories have made me stare at this for awhile now,the lighting is suberb too.
Fantastic work <3
As usual, your art is stunning, Apeldille. I love how you can create an image and make it appear your staring into a photograph. Your use of detail in your artwork is always just amazing. I love everything about it. ♥
Love the vastness, and the detail. Specifically the embroidery of the girth(?).
I can almost feel the lingering heat from the sun; I imagine it to be summer here.
This is stunning, as always. ♥ The background looks so beautiful. I wish I could just stand there and watch it. Ngh I love how realistic your art is.. Mellori is so beautiful <3 Gorgeousgorgeousgorgeous work, Apel. <3
Clare: Ah, I'm glad you like it! <3 Thanks for commissioning me, it was really fun.
wingeddeer: Thank you! I'm glad you'd like to be there, I think it would be a nice place.
proudwolf: Thanks! ^^
Lung: Thank you!
Ravynn: Thanks, I tried to make the background really... big, kind of. Yeah, I think it's summer there, the hot summer that makes the air dance.
Flatsoda: Thank you! ^^
Rikkachan: Thanks!
Orinocoflow: The last two years I've gone to an art school, and before that, lots and lots of practise. :]
Tips on bgs... hm. They hated me at first too, then I began to treat them as another character, kind of. Maybe make a bg that resonates with your character, I dunno.
Try to find some kind of background that you like to draw - for me it was forests - then begin with that. Then move on to other things you find more difficult. I'm still not out of my comfort zone (skies and natural landscapes) but I'm trying to work on it.
And clouds, those can be tricky! Watch them IRL, notice their details, shapes and peculiarites, how the light shines on/in/behind/through them, how many colours they can have. References are good too. Hopefully this answer was at least a bit helpful XD
