February 02
Woke up early. The forest was cold and quiet, almost too quiet. Went to the Twin Statues and lingered around for quite a while before a stag joined her (Lau). Sat with him.
Saw some strangers hopping and romping around like fawns... 'Hnnn, that looks fun' Greeted them and joined the little group. Jumped around with them, then left to rest a bit. Headed towards the birch forest while admiring the view and ate pinecones but found the taste unpleasant. Heard they were supposed to be magical but the taste was certainly not. Noticed the strange mushroom circles scattered around the forest, they weren't covered in snow. Thinks they are for some kind of ritual, wary of them for now.

January 28
Woke up near the ruins where she fell asleep last time. Deciced to stay there for a while. Got bored eventually and started wandering aimlessly.. ehh. Found a nice spot and dozed off, only to be woken up by loud noises. Guh. Jumped on a tree branch to chill some more, and almost rolled off when she fell asleep again. Ended up by the ruins once again, sniffed at some strangers but everyone seemed to be asleep, she didn't want to wake them. It would be rude, no? Got hungry and caught a squirrel, after chasing it for a good 5 minutes. The small critters are fast as lightning.
Met a tiny red doe by the name Vala. She seemed nice, so followed her around for a bit, then they departed. A little later a fawn came up to her. What do? :I Being completely clueless, she sat next to the fawn for a while, but the little one grew bored soon enough and left. Sadface.

January 26
Found a hidden lair in the cavern she discovered earlier, emitting a strange purple glow. Observed it for half an hour, expecting someone or something to come through it, but nothing happened. Damned curiosity. Stepped through the hole anxiously, half expecting to die, but instead was greeted with a bright light and the sound of birds chirping. Interesting.
(Arrived in the forest. Adjusting. New scents, new sounds, new everything. Enjoying the view for now and resting. Exploring can wait.)
Body
• Fast and agile, her bones are light and flexible. Graceful and quick movements and jumps.
• Her most notable feature is the long tail. It's covered in long silky hair with a single feather growing on top of it. The feather resembles that of a peacock and covers the tail from its base to the point. It's not only for display, thanks to the tail she has extremely good sense of balance. It also helps expressing her current mood and physical state: held high when agitated/annoyed, nearly linear when relaxed, and down/curling around her body when afraid or cold.
• Her hair is long, covering her eyes, but despite this, she seems to have no problem seeing. The hair continues to grow along her neckline like the mane of a horse.
• Her pelt is a dark blue shade with tints of purple around the neck, belly and rear, and black around the legs. It's freckled with lighter blue and purple spots. Short but thick, keeps her warm in winter, and it will grow thinner in warmer climates, but the doe doesn't cope well with extreme heat.
• Hooves are sharp and shiny. She moves quietly, nearly making no sound even when running.
• She has a pair of deep violet antlers adorning her head.
• The doe is not built for combat but will not necessarily flee when faced with danger. She's able to dodge quickly and kick the opponent before it can charge again, and evade further physical contact with high jumps and sharp turns. The antlers are sharp, and could deal some serious damage, but they are also quite fragile. She will most likely aim at the softer parts of the opponent's body, like the neck and belly.

Mind
• Accepting, has seen a lot of different creatures and learned not to judge a book by its cover.
• Doesn't acknowledge authorities. Titles and 'badges' don't mean anything to her. Actions speak louder.
• Respects nonetheless and wants to be respected in return.
• Reserved but friendly and inviting, likes the company of others but will always keep a certain distance.
• Always there when a friend is needed, offering words of advice if the other wants it.
• She won't talk about herself or her past very often, doesn't see a reason to do so. If someone's curious they can always ask of course, but she will most likely want to know something about the other in return.
• Likes to watch and observe others, all the different kind of reactions and behavior never cease to amuse her.
• Love and devotion are alien feelings to her, never been attached to anyone other than her late mother and grandmother. Fears the pain that the potential loss of a loved one brings. Enjoys affection though, and will gladly cuddle and nuzzle anyone she's comfortable with.
• Has a possessive side, mainly around her mother's remains, her nest and belongings. This might extend to others as well, once the doe takes a liking to someone.
• Not very animalistic or feral in nature but recognises danger immediately.
• She's very peaceful normally and will do anything to keep a mask of calmness when provoked to further annoy whoever tries to pick a fight with her. It doesn't take long to anger her though. Being looked down on is probably her biggest trigger.
• The doe is not one to start a fight and becomes hostile when stressed. Depending on her mood she will either ditch anyone without a word, to silently fume or cry out of distress when no one's near, or start picking on whoever's with her, until they leave. Harm done to her is not easily forgiven, the doe needs time to cool down. Past events will most likely be brought up from time to time, even if the relationship is repaired.
• She rarely engages in physical fights but is not completely defenseless.
• Her human life has left some scars on her mind, also some dangerous abilities she tries not to mention. They come in handy when there's a fight, but she will refrain from using any of them, unless there's no other choice. (more info down)

Before the Forest
Before the discovery of the Endless Forest, Elitha's original home was a place ruled by cold mountains and eternal winter. The creatures around here were not so different from the Forest's inhabitants. Some wore human faces while some had heads like beasts but they all walked on four legs and mostly cloven hooves. They barely met one another though, for the tribes and families were separated by the cold mountains, but every now and then the young and strong ones would prepare to leave their homes in hopes of finding a new place, and perhaps a mate.

Elitha wasn't an only child, her mother gave birth to twins but the little buck was born dead. Although she didn't remember him, the feeling of something missing accompanied her through childhood. It was only later that her mother told her she had a twin brother.

She grew up in a cave with her mother and grandmother. They taught her the ways of bear-hunting, making fur-coats, laying simple traps to catch smaller animals, and living in the frozen environment. Using what the nearby forests had to offer the little family was happy and content for the most part, but in her mind's eye the young doe saw unimaginable landscapes where the rays of the sun warm the ground and life blossoms everywhere. It was nothing like the endless white she used to see every day. These fantasies were soon overpowered by unsettling dreams as the foreign memories of a past life flooded her mind. With every new-found memory the young doe felt more hollow. She never spoke of these dreams to her mother, for fear of the consequences.

When her mother passed of old age the young doe was left alone. She knew it was time to find a new place. Leaving her mother's remains behind, she left.
On her 1-year journey she's seen different lands, passed different rivers and creatures, but never found a place she wanted to call home. All this time, solitude never bothered her. It was a good time to reflect on things and it gave her the chance she needed to come to terms with herself. She no longer saw the memories as a curse, but a reminder: running away will never solve problems.

After wandering some more, she found herself in a swampy forest with seemingly no life. Soon she discovered a cavern, and a strange shrine within. The walls were covered in symbols and instructions unknown to her, and deeper inside there was a stone lever. The shrine started to move upon hitting it, revealing a hole emitting a purple glow.

Abilities
As a human, Elitha aquired powers from a creature in exchange for her loyalty. Most of these powers were lost after the rebirth, but some remained to serve her in her new life. Using any of these powers costs a great deal of energy. When a power is in use a hidden symbol on her forehead will start to glow, the symbol is invisible otherwise.
Possession: When someone is bitten, Elitha is able to take control of their actions. The duration depends on the willpower and physical health of the bitten person. If they are weak, they will become a permanent host and die when the possession ends. Strong subjects will be left disoriented, confused and tired, even after a short encounter. The ability is extremely restricted, only enabling basic movements and speech. Whatever powers the possessed person has, will not be available to Elitha.
Puppet Clone: When in extreme danger, the doe can summon a clone to distract and confuse opponents. This clone is unable to attack or flee, but when used smartly can act as a decoy while she slips out of the attacker's reach.
Web of Fears: When someone is exposed to this ability they will start hearing ghostly voices (often belonging to their loved ones) whispering to them about their fears, faults and failings. The voices are only heard by the target and Elitha is not aware of what they say.
Rotting Gaze: Perhaps her most dangerous ability. If every other attempt to flee or defeat an opponent fails, the doe will uncover her eyes and look at the target. After catching a glimpse of the enemy, it'll start to rot away rapidly. The opponent is still alive and will experience horrible pain until they die. The process is fast and can't be stopped, so it is a last resort weapon for the doe. This power is only active when Elitha is in grave danger and will not affect anyone normally.

Tell me a Tale...
Tale of a ruined child
There was a world of crime once, a modern civilization ruled by corrupted men. Great things were invented here, advanced technology was at hand, but it was used against the common people, silencing their wants and needs. Hatred stained the once loving hearts and soon the oppressed began to riot. There were people who fought by mere force, some formed groups to outsmart the tyrants, and others turned to beings above all men. Families fell apart and the people felt hopeless. In this world, a little girl was born. They called her Nia.

As a child Nia was hopeful, wanting nothing more than love, dreaming of beauty and better times like other children, but these dreams were crushed under the weight of a sinful and crazed world. Her mother started to show signs of insanity, whispering strange and unsettling things to the young girl, stories about people who own powers unlike any other. Their lives, purpose, and origins. The child believed it all, listening to her mother's tales in awe, every night and day. The father became suspicious and the mother was soon dragged away by religious fanatics led by him. They believed her to be a prophet of decadence, and called her a witch. With her mother gone, there was no one left to give love to her.

Growing up, she could never forget about the things her mother told her, and decided to look for clues, discovering old books and journals belonging to her mother. What she found in them was a map with several marks, and some information about a handful of people who worshipped the deity of chaos. With nothing left to lose, she traveled to find them. The realization came as a shock, the stories her mother told her were never fiction. There was a creature able to grant powers to those who were willing to serve them. It was neither a god nor a demon.

Soon became a member of the group, training and acquiring the skills and abilities herself, but she was dissapointed. Becoming greedy she wanted more. She wanted to be stronger than the others, wanted to see the fall of the tyrants and those who ruined her. She was no longer hoping for a better world, only selfish revenge. Making a deal with the creature itself, Nia was granted with greater powers, but at a price. To keep these new powers and strengthen the bond with the deity, she had to strike down on those who accepted and mentored her. These lives were sacrifices to show her loyalty and devotion.

Those loathed by her began to feel the wrath that nested itself into her heart and mind over time. The destruction began. Deseases were spread across cities, floods and earthquakes shook the ground, allies were made into foes, and fear overtook the minds. The once powerful stronghold of the tyrants crumbled down, along with the city itself. Nothing but ruins remained in its place.
Looking down, Nia saw nothing but death, and the awaited feeling of calmness never came. Her childlike hopes were crushed, and heart was left empty. Her life was ended by a shot to the head, her own hand holding the pistol. A final act of cowardice.

For some reason, the Caotic Creature took a liking to this troubled soul, sending it to another realm where it could find the peace it longed for. Being reborn in a different body and given a second chance, she carries the burden of memories to this day, and these ruins still haunt her dreams, even in another life.

edit: I can't connect to the game at all... I've been struggling with it for the past 2 hours now with no luck. Never had connection problems before... just a heads up for anyone who's interested I guess, I won't be playing in-forest for a while it seems 8/

Yes, the pictos refuse to spread. I tried it a few minutes ago and they did spread this time, and I could see people around too, but the green dot changed to orange soon after and the map didn't display my deer. Tried logging in an out in-game but it didn't help so I disconnected, and now the pictos won't spread again 8(

What's weird is that sometimes I can hear a deer mooing (and since no one else is seen it has to be my deer) but I only remember hitting the moo button once, so it repeats randomly. Another thing is that in-game it says that 48 people are connected but the map says 39 right now... something's borked and I don't know how to deal with it xD

I think I know the problem

I think I know the problem now. When there are a lot of people online (nearing 35 or above) the pictos won't spread at all, but below that number everything seems to be working fine. Even so, the dot will change to red (and disconnect automatically) on random. Sometimes I get the 'connection status: error' thing too. I have no idea what causes it so I just hope this problem will dissapear after a while.
