You poor soul... She says, genuinely. Who robbed you of your voice? She thinks, genuinely. He seems perfectly healthy aside from it, and she is certainly impressed by his appearance. Though his lack of a voice must be a great burden to him, she knows. Looks can only go so far.
May I have a seat with you, at least? She asks him, tilting her head just a little, as if to indicate she is of no threat to him. Even if he can't speak, it does not mean she can't simply idle beside him - or ask questions in different ways.

Thank you, She says to him,
For a brief moment, the only sounds were the sounds of the birds and insects in the Forest around them; now and then, bellows could be heard in the far distance, but she felt no sense of worry. She was already beginning to acclimate to the new world and its soundtrack - though, in reality, it was no different from any other place she had been to.
But the vampire looks up at the stranger, curious and finding herself wishing to hold a conversation. Though his voice was lacking, a simple yes or no questionnaire could suffice.
Permit me to ask: Was it in this place that you were stripped of your tongue?

What could you have done to require so great a payment? She asks, no longer looking at him, and instead staring off into an empty horizon.
From the corner of his eye
I needed saving
The answer was simple and perhaps even a bit sad. He had never needed help before, and the moment he had, he had needed it badly. Badly enough to seek help from someone he hated. His head turned slightly to look over at her before he looked out as she was.
As she looked down at the
She shook her head, ridding herself of the thoughts. It would do no good to take another's tragedy lightly when she was mere inches from them. I must apologize. She told him. 'Tis just that I have seen and heard such things before.
She pulls her gaze away from his eyes to look over his tines; she couldn't help but admire the way they curved and jutted upwards, as if looking to tear open the sky, spilling stars all over the Forest floor. What a glorious moment it would be, she thought.
She looked at him again however as she spoke again.
Who or what was it that you needed saving from?
Her laugh did not bother him

So, do you fear death? She asked, looking at him directly as she always did when she spoke. She seemed to hesitate a little before another sentence slipped free from her mouth. Or, was it for the sake of someone else?

His response didn't answer her question in black and white, but it was the best he would give her. Things had gone south quickly before he had been thrust into the forest and he wasn't sure just how he felt about it all.
'Tis a shame, she thought,
My condolences, she told him, and the thought that she didn't even learn his name suddenly came to her.
Forgive my shift in conversation, she said with a hint of embarrassment, But I never did acquire your name, stranger.

While she couldn't see it, he smiled charmingly behind his mask, holding a paw against his chest as he bowed his head.

You certainly are charming. She commented. 'Tis a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Bael Fraser. She rolled his first name on her tongue as she said it; it was a pleasant sound, and a name she had never heard before. If anything, that would make it far easier to remember.
If you do not mind me inquiring further; how long have you lived here in this Forest? Were you born here? Though she wasn't sure if he was growing tired of the conversations or not, she felt relaxed and curious enough to continue asking questions and pursuing his history.
The more she could learn about the Forest, and its residents, the better.
