Up late

Instanciated last night and found myself not on my favourite hill! I must have forgotten to return there before logging out the previous night. Or my deer got bored and wandered off there on his own.

There was nobody around conscious, as had been the case on the previous two nights. My fault for the unsociable hours in which I usually end up visiting the forest. Never mind, it's always nice to have a little stroll, and I thought I'd visit the fountain, not been in a while.

I arrived and was soon my naked deer self.

Time to play a little beastie roulette, let's drink the water and see what I become...

A bat! I fluttered around a bit and almost immediately flew outside the circle, losing my bathood. I went for another drink and this time I was...

A squirrel!

Then, as I was being a squirrel, a thought occurred to me: I wonder what would happen if I...

Oh so *that's* how you do that!

I had seen pictures of others in that seemingly anomalous state and wondered how it was done. Mystery solved!

My time at the fountain over I thought I'd continue my stroll, only to find myself naked *outside* the mushroom circle for some reason.

Perhaps the gods were shaming me for my anomalous transgression. A quick appearance load restored my set, and I thought it prudent to go and have a pray at the statues to cleanse my soul.

There, all pure and lovely. White as a sheep. My boys would approve.

Given that there was nobody else conscious I started to walk back to my little hill, to sit there for a while and see if I heard any signs of life whilst I was doing other things on my computer. On the way I passed the hollow tree, and saw a bunch of deer napping in there - I can see Eris' glyph and is that Saater? I haven't seen Saater for ages!

Looked like a right tangle of antlers in there. I imagined them waking up and then spending five minutes trying to get their heads disentangled lol. Anyway they were napping so I carried on back to the little hill and sat down and switched to another desktop, keeping half an ear out for the sound of any activity should anyone else awaken.

Half an ear was sufficient, as after a while I heard a moo! (Michaël refers to the deer sound as "roaring", and perhaps that's technically correct, but to me it's a moo. Perhaps not surprising I think of it that way given my ox-ram-deer-thing nature). I roused myself from my napping, happy that at least tonight there was someone else awake, and before long...

Ah yes! It's Saater and Missy and a smaller deer I don't recognise (forgive my ignorance).

So nice to see Saater again! (Lovely to see everyone else too, of course, but Saater was one of the first deer whose name I learned upon returning here, and I've not seen him for ages).

There was mutual greeting. I had been about to go to bed but I was so happy to meet others awake in the forest that I decided to stay a while and hang out. It'd've been rude not to.

Of course I got new pyjamas cast on me, which is always fun Smiling

There was much running and frolicking and of course me managing to make myself look utterly daft. Wouldn't be right if I wasn't standing on my horns with my bum in the air at some point in the proceedings.

Eris and Saater look so handsome and striking, I look like a quadrupedal flightless parrot haha Laughing out loud

There was much running and leaping and frolicking, silliness and laughter. After the previous couple of empty nights when I'd found nobody awake this was just the tonic I was needing.

Then to my delight we were joined by Widmung too. It was a real pleasure to see these lovely deer that I'd already become fond of and hang out with them again.

I really like this screenshot of the four of us all standing together on the rocks.

More silliness, with object interpenetration and stacking.

I would have liked to have stayed and play some more but it really was getting quite far beyond my bedtime and my real life eyelids were drooping, so I made my way back to the little hill and bowed goodnight to my deer friends. <3

Thank you all for spending time with me and keeping me awake in such a delightful way. It is always such a pleasure to see you.

I look forward to seeing you all again soon! <3
