Part 1: The Sound of Chase     A flicker of movement, as something leaped out of the ditch at the Crying Idol. That would caught the interest of anyone looking in that direction. And quite soon they would realize it was just a small doe, who is full of energy after taking a refreshing shower in the waterfall of the Idol's tears. A smart idea in these hot days. However, there was no one watching this little red giglet at that moment. But she was about to observe the surroundings soon.     Foxbrow shook off the water from her fur like a dog, creating a brief feeling of a rain around her. Then she stretched a bit her legs before turning her attention from herself to the surrounding world again. With a mild smile on her cheeks, the red doe looked down the stream, pondering what kind of entertainment the Forest has to offer right now. She noticed a lonely stag sitting near the bridge, staring the pond in a drowsy way. Sure, she can jump to him to make him company, but that's not the kind of thrill she's looking for right now. And what about the shores of the Pond? She can clearly see some lovely couples there and a pack of fawns playing in the puddles of mud. Now that's something that sounds exciting!     All excited about the idea of playing with a bunch of fawns in muddy shore, Foxbrow set off for the Pond down the hill. She was just about to make the first few steps when she realized that rolling in a mud right after taking a shower probably isn't the best idea. Not that this prankful doe would be that keen about anything related to hygiene, but still...     At the very same moment her ears twitched as a familiar sound reached to her from behind - the sound of deer hooves thumping the ground. Foxbrow turned with a pleasant and excited expression of someone, who has just got lucky to hit the jackpot.     "Tag game!" ran through her head when she saw the pack of deer, both old and young, running through the woods.     Without any further hesitating, Foxbrow ran to them with the intention to join their game. After a while she caught up with them, and jumped right into the game, yelling loudly "Veeee!" all around. She had no clue who had been tagged right now, but that is something she'll figure out during the play. After all, it changes quite often. Meanwhile she jumped, ran in circles and frolicked around the group, that was still moving in one direction.     In all the joy of the game, she has probably missed being tagged, because suddenly all the deer, that held tight together in the group, scattered and ran away from her, each of them in another direction. At fist she tried to catch them and chase them back together, but soon she realized the game is probably over. That's a pity.     But wait! Now that the whole group was away, she noticed clearly the sound of someone running towards her from behind. "So guess it was not me, who got tagged after all." she thought to herself, speeding her tempo again. Suddenly silent Turn on a dime None in sight Cautious Hit hard Confusion Blind dance - to the birches - tall grass - Dwarven battle roll Underbelly rack stack |
