I have Sims 2 at the moment, and was completely addicted for a while, then lost interest except for sudden random bursts of total addiction for a few days or so before forgetting about it for a month. I have two questions:
Sims 3 is out in America, yeaaah? I would like to ask AMERICA (and anywhere else it's out before the UK), what's extra? Based on the above information, d'you think there's enough extra/different for me to be interested in buying it?
Okay, and two: is it worth my time making SimsDeer like everyone else on the bandwagon, only in Sims 2?

I never had the sims 2 so i can't really say the differences between it and sims 3. In my own opinion Sims 3 is a great game with soo much detail. You can get your sim looking just how you want it being able to change the colour of the roots of their hair, to making it obese and more. There is alot of choice when it comes to careers and you are able to explore the whole town. Also you can pick their traits and using a very handy cheat you're able to change them whenever you want (not that i would do anything like that XD ). Okay so that's the reason why i play... to cheat
As for the 2nd question: Yeah why not, go for it! i think quite a few peopple have used Sims 2 for their creations.

I think I will get it. Birthday in July + using Sims 2 to make TEF chars = perfect time for hint dropping, also I don't mind if that doesn't work cos I'll just buy it. Thanks Tae! More design-a things is really what I'm looking for. Some people say the cheats take the fun out of a game, but I say not if you have imagination. S'fun!

I'd say stick with Sims 2 for now. :> Besides, Sims 3 is expensive as it is, and once the price lowers it'll have expansions and crap for you to buy along with it. <3 I'd love to see FIUsim though. cB

I actually found a hair to use for
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
...I had to make a Downloads folder, does that make a difference? And if it is working, do I just find them with all the normal hair in the creation process, or are they via mirror? Sorry for asking you all these things, I'm just happy I have someone to ask. ^_^;

I cannot for the life of me figure out my KMPlayer to make animated icons, so you're either going to have to give me a thorough tutorial of how YOU make them so I don't ask for 9504 of them from you in a second here with links to all the programs you use, or you're going to have to suffer like four two(noteventhat)-second gifs D> GOOD LORD. Well I can always make them
BUT this is a brief thing of what I do (if it's from something on YouTube):
Use keepvid.com to rip an .flv of the video.
Use an FLV to AVI converter....to convert it from .flv to .avi....
...and then I open it in Jasc Animation Shop 3 to see it frame-by-frame, delete the frames that are unwanted, edit where necessary, and save as .gif. Thing is, I have no idea where we got Jasc Anim from, or where you could get it. I have a sneaking suspicion we got it as a free trial with something else, and then it failed to stop working when the deadline ran out. xD;
However, if you have an animation program that can open AVI's, then my method still works. ^^;
