Isamu: The Hollow Fawn
"What am I" the child began to wail
A cry with no answer, leaving him pale
Their tormenting grins bringing chills to his bones
"Am I hollow, a body with no soul?"
How could one do that, how could they be so low
Name:
Isamu Ishii
Meaning:
Isamu, meaning "brave, courageous"
Ishii, meaning "rock well, resides in a rocky place"
Gender:
Male
Origin:
Warrior and/or Sika Deer (Memory loss)
Background:
"I am a warrior, a kind not to be meddled with!"
Long ago Isamu was a brave warrior, or so he says.
He believes he was once a human who died long ago in a great war, and since then been reincarnated here in the forest.
Of course the little fawn has no proof of this, but in his mind is has to be true. For nothing else makes sense to him.
"Isamu" is a Japanese name, and it's meaning meant the world to him, so he formally named himself it immediately, but of course didn't take much for he never did have a name beforehand.
He was "Born" or found in the large tree in the forest, making it his favourite place entirely.
Personality:
"No... No I'll just stay over here, thank you."
Although he tries to be brave, he really does... Isamu's actually quite a shy fawn around others his age, keeping his distance or watching from behind a tree.
His shyness increases if the other is female, causing him to stutter and lift up his chin and stand proudly.
He constantly reminds all who question it that he is not trying to impress them, but no one believes him for a second.
Appearance:
Isamu wants to grow up as soon as possible, causing him to get very annoyed with the forest magic.
He wants antlers, he wants a bold pelt, he wants everything.
Of course though, until he is a grown stag, he cannot keep the magic, and therefore becomes very grumpy.
Currently, Isamu wears, or attempts to wear, a large Japanese warrior helmet/mask
For example: http://www.sarudama.com/lore/images/hannya_mask.gif
This is of course not a magical mask, or else it would disappear soon after, it is merely something he found when he awoke under the great tree.
The mask itself is too large for him, and so he carries it on his back most of the time.
The hollow term comes from Isamu's eyes, as they are in fact hollow.
Much to this deformity, he can see perfectly clear, and believes it reflects on his past life or maybe even his death.
