So, figured I would put one of these up.. I guess you could say it's mostly just to lay around if I ever need it, but please, I love RP and anything at any time would be very welcome here ^^. It can be based off of forest events or not, don't care. Rules? Eh, do what you'd like, no offense will be taken by me and I'll expect the same in return. Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think you guys need everything spelled out..
Anyways, feel free to start, or ask me to.
The deer
Zahava Bio (Antisocial jerk the majority of the time ;A;)
Alani Bio (Much easier to get along with... Goody two-shoes...)
Rhea Bio (Guess I'll add her.. She'll probably just laugh at you though. /ded)
Interested in either of your
Thanks! Maybe either Actaeon
Would you like me to start or would you rather?
I might have both of them
Oh boy. ♥ *Tracks*
(Alright, I'll warn you
A black doe trotted almost silently through the forest. She paused a large tree, and bent her head to sniff at the ground near the roots of the giant. Good. Her treasure still lay buried there; the metallic smell was almost comforting as it wafted through her nostrils. With her hooves, the doe scuffed at the sight a bit, just making sure it still looked natural and hidden. She didn't consider the fact that her scent was all over the spot because of how often she visited it.
The large hind swiveled her head and neck around, endeavoring to ensure no one had witnessed her fussing there. Satisfied enough, she snorted and trotted down to the pond that wasn't even a hundred feet away. She bent her long neck down to drink, sipping the cool water. After a moment though, her head shot up, the hair on her neck bristling. She would have sworn someone was close by.
(Thanks for the track ^^ ♥)
{It's all good! I'm no expert
The gray male had been trying to slink around the edge of the forest that bordered the pond, hoping he could get by without disturbing anyone in his passing, when he took note of the black doe at the water's edge. His mind was on high alert for the creature that had hurt his friend, somewhat irritated that the forest had another monster hiding in the shadows. At least this one was noticeable. It wasn't something hiding under a facade of a familar creature. His body was still sore, muscles protesting with each limping step he made, and made him feel as if he was far older than he was. It made him wonder just how bad it would get for him when he was old. It was something he wasn't looking forward to at the moment.
Zash tensed when the doe did, freezing into place as if he was hoping to skirt by getting caught. His body swayed on the spot until he could shift his weight enough to balance himself out. His brown eye watched her, while all he hoped was that she was friendly and wouldn't make a split second decision that he had meant harm and charge. He considered just going about his way and heading toward the Idol, but since he felt he had disturbed her peace, he felt equally obligated to stick around.
Zahava's head and neck
"You look like you need a good soaking," she mused, probably just barely loud enough for him to hear.
Zash's ear perked forward to
The doe slowly gestured to
"Water.." she started in a tired, almost troubled voice, "It cures many aliments.."
Zah stepped out into the pond herself, the reassuring water lapped at her knees. She looked back at the gray male, wondering if he'd enter as well or be on his way. Her expression gave away little emotion; perhaps just a touch of curiosity lingered in her eyes.
Zash just watched her,
"It does," he agreed quietly, watching the ripples dance away from his forehoof as he rested himself down there, ignoring the cold seep of the mud under him. "Sort of...like nature's elixir."
Tracking this for later.
(Hiya winged ^^) Zah watched
Zah watched him as came closer, and nodded approvingly when he nestled down. The large doe settled herself down as well the water flowing up to her chest and sides. She didn't face him directly, though did keep an eye and ear pointed his way.
"What's your name, Soldier?" the black doe asked. Surely this buck had seen his fair share of battles considering his old wounds.
He watched her come over and
"I'm Zash..." he replied with a glance in her direction, "May I know yours?" Perhaps formal was the way to go with this doe.
"Zash," she repeated, tasting
Without hesitation, she answered, "It's Zah."
Zah was vaguely aware the nickname sounded unusual to the ears and rolled off the tongue more like a breath than a true name. Her full name just seemed old and alien to her now.
Suddenly, Zah's ears perked and her head jerked to the side; she'd heard a noise. Looking over though, it was merely a small twig falling from one of the trees. She huffed, wishing she wasn't forever paranoid.
"Zah..." he repeated with a
"The forest seems to have become darker as of late," he stated quietly, as if that would justify her tension.
Zah looked down at the water,
Her jaw was set with her lips in a hard line as she lifted her neck to peer over the banks of the pond to get a good scope of the area. She didn't trust this forest in the slightest; she hadn't been here long and she had already seen her fair share of evil beings and been in plenty of rough scraps herself.. It didn't help the fact that war was all she had known in her past life. Peace was just a foreign concept; something too far off to be tangibly grasped.
It seemed darker here? She wondered on that.. Wondered if this forest had once seen such peace.
The doe paused, keeping her gaze fixed on a section of wooded horizon. She replied to him with rough words that where more for self-reassurance than anything else."Good thing I'm not afraid of the dark."
He watched her get up and
"Well...that makes one of us," he stated quietly, expressing his own fears for the first time. He was terrifed; there was plenty of things in the forest that could beat him within an inch of his life without even trying. What if he couldn't protect those he cared for? What if he failed them? What if he attracted trouble; he was easy to overpower if they knew what buttons to push.
"I was never much of a fighter in the first place...even more so now," he added, as if defending his earlier words. He didn't want to make the wrong impression on her. He knew his own limits, he knew he wasn't a strong or powerful stag in the forest, nor was he any better as a person. Only there that he could usually deter problems. In the forest he didn't, or couldn't, usually. He didn't have as many tricks up his sleeve. Normally he didn't find that a problem, but when he was faced with a stag that could crush him just by looking at him...he liked to have some form of a plan to avoid dying.
Zah's ears flicked towards
Slowly, the black hind lowered her head to look him more in the eye. Her gaze softened in the slightest way as she regarded him.
"A wise stag once told me that you don't win a war with the strength of your body or the speed of your legs; you win with the tenacity of a courageous and determined heart."
The doe couldn't help but allow a corner of her jaw to creep up in a faint smile as she reminisced. Those words had carried her through many years of war and hardship. Now, she still lived by them, and maybe they could help this one too.
"A strong heart will carry you for longer than a strong body can keep you standing."
The male stared at her for
Yet, the little smile on her face said otherwise. She was telling him something she felt strongly about, believed in. And here she was telling him it. He returned her faint smile with one of his own, dipping his head. "Very wise...and very true."
She watched him for a moment
Zah yawned, revealing her long canines. Then in almost an afterthought she spoke, "It wouldn't be a bad idea to learn how to fight though."
Ohh I've been waiting for the

Zahava will be a little more standoffish since she's injured at the moment, but your welcome to have a go at her. Or, Alani is always welcoming of company.. Your choice c:
He started to follow her,
"No," he agreed, keeping his voice as relaxed as he could muster, "it certainly doesn't hurt."
Zah caught the way he looked
"Settle, Stag," she told him quietly, her body relaxing in the water, "I've no reason to go at you."
Or did she? Zah scrutinized the stag again; he didn't look like the type that would cause problems, but that didn't always mean something.
(Gahh, I'm so freakin'
Bronze, late-afternoon light filtered through the trees, highlighting the the deep greens and browns below. A shadow moved beneath the canopy, his iridescent azure eyes flickering left and right. The forest seemed quiet this evening. All was peaceful: no fawns called out, and the clatter of antlers didn't echo through the air. Everything was still, save for the birds, the occasional rustle of the undergrowth, and the illuminated dust specs hovering in the sunlight.
Caden glanced around warily. He wasn't feeling his best at the moment, as he was still suffering from deep lacerations and large, swelling bruises. 'You're a fool, Caden,' he argued to himself, as he made his way through the brush. Oh, why on earth didn't he listen to his body?! Next time, he needed to remember to keep the notion of "enough's enough" in mind.
Absorbed in his thoughts, he hardly noticed another's presence until he was stumbling over some helpless bystander in the dark. "Oh! I'm terribly sorry!" he called to the stranger, hoping it wasn't someone such as Reed or Umay, so that he might spare himself from another battle...and more injuries.
No reason? What's-her-face
His fur started to settle, and he glanced at the ground, only to look up at her, "Do...do I have your word on that...soldier to soldier?" he asked softly.

mismatched: The orange doe
The orange doe stood alone in the forest, something very unusual for her. She had her head cocked with a contemplative expression as she studied a little flowering plant at her hooves. Extending her neck, she sniffed it, and then let out a sigh. She had no clue what it did. Maybe it helped with pain, maybe it was just edible, maybe it was downright poisonous. The light was fading, she'd have to come back and observe it tomorrow; perhaps then she'd be brave enough to experiment with it.
As she turned around to leave, she found herself being tripped over by something large and blue. She tried to jump out of his way, gasping. For a moment, the doe cowered before him, hoping he wasn't one of those scarey types.. At the sound of his apology, she relaxed, grinning up at him politely.
"It's quite alright, sir."
Her eyes passed over him and, seeing his wounds, she frowned, "Oh dear, you look like you could use something for that."
Her eyes slipped back to the plant she had been studying... No... She wouldn't use him as a guinea pig. She didn't even know him..
Waning-sun:
The doe watched him lazily, wondering what had put the stag in such a paranoid mind set.
"You have my word, soldier to soldier, that I will never harm you.. So long as you never harm anyone else."
For some reason, she felt some sort of way for this stag.. Perhaps she was a little concerned? Something was obviously bothering him significantly. So, she offered him the only thing she had.
"If you ever find yourself in a certain situation that requires such a fight, don't hesitate to find me.. So long as it's not some petty argument...
niriya:
Sure, I'd love to ♥ would you like to start or would you like me to?
You. Please. o 3o
Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!
Zash gave a nod, trying to
"I don't think I could bring harm to someone...anymore...even if I wanted to," he muttered with a half smile, "Nine times out of ten, I attract the fight rather than start it."
Caden shook himself,
As he struggled to recompose himself, he caught her next words, and a spark ignited in his blue gaze. "Y..you're a healer?" he stammered. It was true, he sorely needed help! All the treatment his wounds had received so far was the occasional soak in the pond, and though it did him well, it wasn't quite enough. They still hurt something awful, and stung when he moved about. He feared that if he allowed this to continue, they might get infected.
niriya: Gentle rays of
Gentle rays of sunlight peaked through the broad leaves of the trees above and attempted to warm the back of a large, black doe in vain. She sat in the shallows of the pond, her massive head resting on a log with half lidded eyes. If not for the rise and fall of her back, the shiver that trembled through her occasionally, and the labored sound of her breathing, she would have been silent and motionless.
The hind tried shifting to get more comfortable, but it didn't help. Her back legs were pretty bad off with deep gashes and bite marks. Some of the skin around her throat was flayed open and other bite marks could be found on her back and neck. All were painful but superficial for the most part.
Zahava had been injured many times before, she knew the drill. Days would be spent resting, avoiding fights and most other deer. There was nothing to do for the pain but try to sleep it off and soak in the soothing waters of the pond.. She'd had worse wounds than this, it was more a nuisance than anything else.
Her ear flicked when she heard a noise. Instinctively, her lips curled upwards to reveal lengthy canines. She didn't bother to get up or even lift her head, no need to waste energy if whatever it was could be scared by her teeth alone.
Waning-sun:
Zah's ears pricked at one particular word, anymore. She pondered on that for a moment or two before voicing the contemplation. "Not anymore, hm?"
She wondered how much of a soldier this one had been.
Mismatched:
Alani immediately felt embarrassed by her poor choice of words "Oh no, I'm sorry.. I'm no medicine deer."
Her ears drooped wishing she could help him, he'd seemed so relived at the thought she was a healer. With quite words she spoke "You see, I only dabble in medicine, considering I know next to nothing about it.. I know ginger root, but I think that only help if you were pregnant" She eyed him quizzically after her last statement. She didn't think he was pregnant, but she'd seen weird enough things in this forest to not doubt impossibilities.
Almost as an afterthought, she perked up. "I do recall hearing there is some kind of bark that helps wounds," her look turned sheepish, "but I don't remember what kind of bark.
I don't want to cram you up
I've only got Ikoll (a war-veteran flirt), Nauti (a fish-doe), Alainn ("one with the oak trees"), and my new filly Ravenel.
"Nope, not anymore. Bad luck
Proud: I'd love it if Zahava
I'd love it if Zahava could meet Ikoll, but she'll probably be pretty standoffish given her current condition ^^' Though, if you're game, we can do that... Or, if you'd rather have a friendlier conversation, Alani would be happy to meet any of yours, she loves meeting new deer c:
Waning-sun:
Zah hummed interestedly,
"You were in a war once too, eh?"
His words reminded her of the battles she had fought in. The black doe had started in the war only killing others so that she herself could live.
"I can understand that, self-preservation is a powerful thing."
"Yeah, I was." he stated
Waning-Sun: Zah thought about
Zah thought about about that for a moment. For her, a war had changed her, though not in a bad way. She still viewed it as the most vitally important time in her life and she felt a sense of nostalgia about it.
Zah shifted in the water, facing the stag a little more, thinking she had figured it out. "Were you on the wrong side?"

[in-game: What have we here? A squished Pica?]
--
Previously, Pica had been scuffing around in the dry grass that had poked up around, here and there half-heartedly, unsure what to do once she had finished chewing at the moss on one of the strange statues near the Cageplace, but now, here was a chance to do something interesting. Her definition of interesting being trying to stalk Zahaha has quietly as she could and rush her at the last minute. The large, dark and intimidating form resting in the water did nothing to deter the fawn from scuttling from tree to tree in a highly suspicious manner as the fawn drew closer and closer, completely unaware that the hind had already heard her soft, pattering footsteps and had drawn up her lips.
Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!
Niriya: (lol YUP, Pica's a
The sound drew closer; It seemed to come from the trees.. Maybe it was an unsuspecting squirrel or bird that would come down and get close enough to eat. The black doe hadn't eaten anything in a few days.
Zah let her lips and eyes close, flitting an ear just slightly to listen to the creature.
She waited.
A sodden one, to be

The last tree. She had reached the last tree that could provide cover in the shadowed forest, and now there was a short stretch of brightly lit grass to sprint. The fawn made many false starts, and many silent curses at her lack of bravery to go charging down to sit on the dark form, but on her most recent false rush she had crackled dead ferns underhoof, and her cover was possibly blown, so with a weak cry sprinted down, long, thin legs carrying a small fluff of weight issuing something that sounded like, "Hi Zahahaaaaaa!" before skidding to a stop with wide eyes at the sight of the hind's wounds, hoping that the small wavelets of water she had splashed up as she ran into the bigwater would not disturb Zahaha.
Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!
Niriya She heard the creature
She heard the creature land on the ground with a crackle of something. Then, it ran.. towards her? No, that wasn't right. Little prey things didn't run towards her.
At the sound of a familiar voice, the doe's head shot up, a little to fast. It made her head spin for a moment. The little bit of water splashed up on her, and she raised an eyebrow to peer down at the small fawn.
"Pica." she said, just one word. It was something equal parts greeting and chiding.
Whoopsies... at the hind's

Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!
Niriya: (g'night ^^) Zah
Zah watched as the little doe clambered up the log. Once the little one seemed settled, the black hind put her head back on the log, watching Pica with one eye.. No meal for now, she'd just have to trying getting a fish later.
"Sorry, Kid," Zah mumbled, giving Pica a gentle nudge with her snout, "I've got to rest for a while."
Caden's ears drooped in
mismatched: The orange doe's
The orange doe's ears perked at the suggestion, "Hm, perhaps that could help."
"Let's see.. I know it's not pine.. And it's not one of those big fat ones in the birch.." The doe quirked her head, staring through him as she thought.
Adjusting her position on the
Zahaha had mumbled something, but Pica thought she caught the gist of it after being nudged gently, and rolled off the log with a gentle sploosh in an effort to find something that could amuse her while keeping Zahaha company, resurfacing lazily to blow air like an aquatic creature.
Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!
