Info on the state of the game?

Edit: Lol so I actually found the dev posts finally. Sorry!! was kinda confused how to navigate this site and was only seeing like random community posts.
So yah, cool to see some actually super recent game stuff!

Yo I decided to revisit this old game after forgetting about it for some years :y
When I log into the game it says there's like 80 peeps connected which shocked me, but I've ran around for a quite a while without seeing a single player other than myself Sad
Also I remember there being a funding campaign for a recode or smthn, but I can't seem to find any info on what came about that either.. I can't tell if this game is still active/being developed and stuffs or if it's just an old relic at this point. I see ppl still posting on the forum tho so figured I'd ask about the game here

hi - I've only just downloaded The Forest recently, but I've had the same experience of being a 'ghost' from time to time - where you log in successfully at the outset and can see the current deer count, but then you get kicked off for no apparent reason. in my case, the little green dot in the bottom left-hand corner of the display turns to red, and an error code of sorts appears along with a "please wait ..." message where it previously said 'welcome' on the 'network' page. just quit and try executing again. sometimes it takes a few tries. sometimes later in the day or evening. for me so far, it has always worked again eventually.
