AND THE ONE TIME SHE OPENED HER EYES
SHE REMEMBERED WHY SHE KEPT THEM CLOSED

WHY am I going to hell? That varies, but it's usually for one of the following reasons:
- I'm not christian {or some other religion
- I have my own beleifs not part of an organized religion
- I'm for gay marriage
- I'm Panromantic
- I'm an artist (seriously. We're evil. Haven't you heard?)
- I swear
- I openly discuss sex
- I'm not married, and I'm only technically a virgin (this is a long story that will not be discussed)
- I have questions about God (you would not BELIEVE what a verbal beating questions about God can lead to)

I know this probably isn't appropriate right now.. but if you still have questions, maybe I can help. I am a christian.
And one thing to keep in mind.. the people who beat and condemn you do not know what it means to be a christian.

Your drawing is really powerful. I love the whole idea and everything about it. ♥

I'm a Christian and I

I'm a Christian and I practice Buddhism. My religion has been closed-minded enough to tell me that Buddhists worship the Buddha, which is not entirely true. Some divisions of Buddhism worship demigods and such but they honor the Buddha as a teacher. It's actually very surprising how similar Buddhism is to Christianity - they teach practically the exact same morals.

I don't tell some people that I have been practicing Buddhism, particularly my grandparents who are strict Southern Baptist, because they would tell me I'm going to hell. I'm a good person, I do good things, but because of this tiny misconception they have, they would condemn me. Am I denouncing my own religion and slapping God in the face for practicing Buddhism? No, I'm learning a philosophy and culture, I'm being open-minded and am expressing the love and respect I have been taught to give to another human beings.

My point is, quite frankly, don't let people tell you where you're going. It's not their choice. It's God's. If anyone tells you you're going to hell, ask them who they are? They're not God, so who gives them the right to point their fingers? People like that think they're right about everything because "it says it in the Bible", but they usually just take words out of context and try to use it to explain whatever they're trying to say. By doing so, you can practically say ANYTHING is explained in the Bible, where the real meaning of the words are ignored.

Just be yourself and don't listen to all the fearmongering that I was taught to obey, alright? *long-distance nuzzles*

is my MSN, anything you need help with just let me know.

I'm a great person to talk to

I'm a great person to talk to about theology.
I'm atheist, and do a lot of religious studies. I can answer tons of questions about gods, religions, lack of belief, reasons for belief, reasons for hating on people who don't believe, and reasons for hating on people that do believe.

Interesting picture. I like the cross holding the mouth shut.

Many of your points are also

Many of your points are also on my checklist of reasons-I'm-doooooomed. I'm a combination of laid-back Catholic and traditional Native, leaning more towards the latter(which of course, makes me a heathen). I'm for gay marriage/rights, I'm asexual, swear like a sailor, openly discuss sex- or lack of it- and question God.

Honestly, I don't believe these types of people have a clue what they're talking about. They're just angry people who want to deflect their anger and disapproval of everything onto others so they'll be just as miserable. Don't let them do that to you. If you are happy, make others happy and lead a good life, God is happy. If you spread anger, hatred, misery and fear like these people do, that's when you're walking the wrong path. I see you making people happy with your art and with your friendship, by supporting peoples' rights to personal choices and sexual freedom and by being a good person in general. So far I think you're doing good, hehe. And IMHO, questioning god/religion is healthy. If you come out the other end with your faith still intact, it'll be stronger than ever. If you don't, then it wasn't helping you much and maybe needed to be let go.

... but hey, if hell is where all the cool folks are going, save me a spot x)

Well, if Heaven is just going

Well, if Heaven is just going to be filled with bunches of fundamentalists, then I think I'd rather go down there myself...
Not that the pearly gates would welcome someone like me in the first place.

I don't think of the whole

I don't think of the whole Hell/Heaven concept very much. It doesn't concern me and nor is it interesting to me.
I'm not part of any religious group either. Religion itself I do not care for. I live in the very moment that I'm in. I'll be concerned and worried when I'm near death and even then I still may not pick a religion, lol.
I accept anyone, as long as they don't shove their beliefs all over others, like you said.

It's such a lack of respect,

It's such a lack of respect, it's...disgusting really
I don't identify myself with any religion, and I don't follow any specific one. I've noticed how closed minded it makes people, and I can't stand that. Still though my parents make me attend church, thankfully it's full of very open minded people.
I don't really believe in a Hell
And I certainly don't think you'll end up there ♥

I am personally fascinated by the concept of reincarnation, despite always being born/raised Episcopal Christian. One point I was really into studying Wicca. I'm glad you created your own personal beliefs, I actually think that's one of the best things you can do in that area.
