Not so much a fairytale
Love...
It was so strong, and they were happy.
It all fell apart, but Talla did not understand why it did.
The others were angry, and the lovers tried to flee, they never hurt anyone.
The forbidden lovers were caught by someone who sinned, but he accused them of sinning.
A golden and a red deer, larger than the norm reared.
Two lovers were torn apart, the caring nobleman told that his lover had no care for him.
The quiet servant did still care, however, and he broke free. He wanted his Prince, for he would love only that kind royal man.
A pure white and a blue deer, larger than the norm tossed their antlered heads.
Running.
He ran, the servant ran. Then something moved, did he not hear it? A stick whizzed through the air, pointed at the tip, and landed on the soft flesh. He fell... and...
Two hazel coloured deer, larger than the norm stood near, ghost like in appearance.
Then both looked at her and she was nearly lost in their deep eyes...
“Talla...”
Talla jolted up, panting heavily. Was it a dream...? No...
She looked about, there was the butterfly as blue as ever, looking peaceful.
The doe checked the feathers given to her by Amadahy - they were intact.
Talla could not fool herself, try as she might. She knew that had been no dream, the gods had been present in her... her vision. They had sent it to her; it must be that.
Had he been killed?
He seemed like such a gentle fellow, punished for love... He deserved another chance... One where he could live in a place that would not discriminate against him because he was doing things differently...
Where demons that licked the air with fire, and petite females who could be squished easily by those stags, could be mates. Where being homosexual was no more surprising than a pond that made one mirror the gods...
“Gods...” the small doe whispered, “I do not know why you have shown me this... what the importance of it is in your minds...” she took a deep breath, trying to put into words what she felt
inside, in her heart – trying to muster the courage.
“F-f-f...” a deep breath, she then continued, “From what I see... I believe he should be given a second chance, why punish one who was different?
He who loved whom
he loved and not who he was told to love? Gods, please open the forest for this ... human.
Change his form into on of your creatures. Bless him for being true to his own heart”
She nodded, curling up slowly before resting her masked muzzle over two thin legs.
“Please.”
